05:26 rurban1 So I'm now discussing with Will the possibilities to combine the superior typing possibilities of rperl with the better op support within B::C. Probably we create a block of restricted rperl syntax, like { use rperl; my integer $i; …} and detected this in B::C and create a seperate rperl-created .so of this block.
05:26 rurban1 we'll write a blog post about our plans

15:03 rurban1 Will_the_Chill: Maybe name the scalar type Scalar, Because Any (perl6) or any needs to be ARRAY,HASH, CV and more also

18:48 perigrin Any was renamed in perl6 I thought.
18:48 perigrin it became Mu no?
18:59 Will_the_Chill I already have "unknown"
18:59 Will_the_Chill I don't want to have 1 type with different capitalization than the others
19:00 Will_the_Chill that would drive me crazy!  :)
19:18 perigrin well 'any'
19:18 perigrin :)
19:19 perigrin and in Moose I think it's called "value"
19:19 perigrin my value $foo;
19:32 Will_the_Chill "value" has tons of different meanings, which makes it already ambiguous and non-descriptive at best
19:32 Will_the_Chill I am not opposed to "any" just yet, but I have to think about it
19:32 Will_the_Chill "scalar" is _the_ correct choice, except for the fact that it is already a keyword in P5 *sigh*
19:33 Will_the_Chill like I said, I've already got "unknown"
19:33 Will_the_Chill and the meanings of "scalar" and "any" and "value" and "unknown" all have subtle differences in meaning
