02:23 bulk88 idk willthechill its about 3-6 message batches a day, it is equal in line count to login/off IRC messages, this isn't the commit bot of wikipedia or firefox
04:18 willthechill well it just bugs me, but if everybody else likes it then I'm fine being out-voted

09:09 willthechill rurban: well hello there sir!
09:09 willthechill I was just complaining about how your bots are talking to much but you aren't even here1
09:10 willthechill :P
09:10 willthechill are you in Germany now?
09:30 rurban yes, i'm here. tethering over my phone
09:31 willthechill why tethering?  no wifi?
09:32 rurban not yet. needs a month in germany to set it up
09:36 rurban ok, trying shorter travis messages now...
09:38 willthechill I have the greatest travis config!  :)    https://github.com/wbraswell/rperl/blob/master/.travis.yml
09:38 rurban well, the new one should be only one line
09:38 rurban taken from yours
09:38 willthechill I tried 1 line, couldn't make it work, so I fell back to 2 lines
09:39 willthechill the important part:
09:39 willthechill notifications:
09:39 willthechill irc:
09:39 willthechill channels:
09:39 willthechill - "irc.perl.org#perl11"
09:39 willthechill on_success: always
09:39 willthechill on_failure: always
09:39 rurban can you give me an op?
09:39 willthechill # to enable skip_join, in IRC channel first execute `/mode -n`
09:39 willthechill skip_join: true
09:39 willthechill template:
09:39 willthechill - "RPerl build %{result}. %{author} says '%{commit_message}'"
09:39 willthechill - "%{build_url} %{compare_url}"
09:39 willthechill Bender trust rurban
09:39 Bender OK, willthechill
09:39 rurban thanks.
09:39 willthechill you are welcome, sir!
09:39 rurban I use this now: "%{repository}#%{build_number} (%{branch} - %{commit} : %{author}): %{message} %{build_url}"
09:39 willthechill I already executed "/mode -n" if you are wondering
09:39 travis-ci [travis-ci] perl11/potion#790 (master - 158991f : Reini Urban): The build passed. http://travis-ci.org/perl11/potion/builds/37034133
09:40 willthechill okay yes that is 1 line
09:40 rurban rather message (build passed|failed) than the commit message
09:40 willthechill looks good!
09:40 rurban welcome!
09:40 willthechill :)
09:41 willthechill have you now moved permanently back to Germany?

09:43 rurban yes, I left you. sorry
09:44 travis-ci [travis-ci] perl11/potion#791 (master - bdfae8d : Reini Urban): The build passed. http://travis-ci.org/perl11/potion/builds/37034375
09:44 willthechill I am so sad now!
09:45 rurban for the small, non-dynamic examples I'm also now as fast as you (or compiled as C). but luajit is still much better
09:45 willthechill wow if you are as fast as C, that's the same as me!
09:45 willthechill BUT can your code link directly back into the pumpkin core?  HAHA I think not my friend!  ;)
09:45 rurban I added special syntax for fast unchecked (i.e. typed) access to array members, but it was only 4% faster than the checked access.
09:46 travis-ci [travis-ci] perl11/p2#214 (p2 - dd2f7c9 : Reini Urban): The build was broken. http://travis-ci.org/perl11/p2/builds/37034407
09:46 rurban pumpkin core? I rather avoid this mess. I need an exit strategy
09:47 rurban oh, my new parser…
09:48 rurban did you see that they blocked me from p5p and rt, and refuse to fix the mess they created with the new bi-polar readonly system?
09:48 rurban they even blocked my patch, so it's now officially helpless and pure pseudo science.
09:49 rurban so it fits the label post-modern, I guess.
09:49 rurban "we don't care about scientific methods, we know better" even if we don't
09:50 willthechill haha yes well maybe you are right
09:51 willthechill only time will tell!
09:51 willthechill meanwhile I am somewhat less quick to sever ties to pumpkin
09:51 willthechill HOWEVER RPerl can be made to compile to stand-alone executable
09:52 willthechill and in C++ data mode (not Perl data mode) there would be little to no dependency on perl.h
09:52 willthechill so that could be an exit strategy to run Perl code without pumpkin whatsoever
09:53 willthechill in Perl data mode, you have all the Perl data types coming from perl.h, lots of dependency there
09:55 rurban we'll probably have to maintain our own fork also, with our patches to fix the biggest mess. cperl sounds like a good name.
09:56 rurban but first I see how far I can go with p2 in the next month. core looks stable now, now I can add the missing library functions. just no threading yet, which is bad.
09:57 willthechill you want to fork pumpkin and name it cperl?
10:01 rurban maybe. not sure yet. I need to keep a stable perl, without the many bugs they introduce and refuse to fix.
10:03 willthechill I understand
10:03 rurban I wrote: "No worries about pseudo-scientific discussions, project management,
10:03 rurban performance bugs and feature deadlocks. Leaving the slack behind."
10:04 willthechill I assume you left cPanel?
10:04 rurban No.
10:04 rurban working remote, full-time
10:05 rurban without cpanel I would probably move on to better languages
10:05 willthechill RPerl is a better language
10:05 willthechill ;)
10:05 willthechill I plan to use RPerl for the next 100 years
10:05 rurban we'll see when we'll try it out with the new modularized compilation modules
10:06 rurban could be used in production in the next 1-2 years, I hope
10:07 rurban have to leave, buying more furniture
10:07 rurban greeting from mirjam
10:07 willthechill hi mirjam, love you!
