23:18 willthechill bulk88: we have an empty install() sub in Makefile.PL right now, which (presumably) disables `make install`, is that incorrect behavior for a CPAN distribution?
23:19 willthechill https://github.com/wbraswell/rperl/blob/master/Makefile.PL
23:32 bulk88 yes, I put it there because RPerl didn't have any public APU or use at the time, the distro existed for self testing
23:32 bulk88 *API
23:32 bulk88 also it was including -I and uninstallable patches of various other cpan .pm'es
23:33 willthechill right
23:34 bulk88 main thing is, the test insutructions don't allow for automated testing and installing (CPAN shell), so the module/distro isn't ready for CPAn distribution
23:34 willthechill thanks to the diligent work of ingy and davido and rurban others, we no longer suffer from the multiple uninstallable patched-dists issue
23:34 willthechill I am putting together the CPAN dist now
23:34 willthechill I will update the INSTALL instructions document as soon as I have something working
23:34 bulk88 it also had (or has, i havent been looking at RPerl) no public API, so there is no point in installing it into perl 's /lib
23:36 willthechill no public API?  you mean like documented?
23:37 willthechill all I care about is that I can get the thing uploaded to CPAN and installable from CPAN
23:37 willthechill correctly, of course  :)
23:38 willthechill so if a disabled `make install` is correct, then that's fine with me
23:38 willthechill if not, then I need to know what to put in there
23:39 willthechill all the current install methods in INSTALL are not for system-wide installs
23:39 willthechill they are only for per-user installs
23:39 willthechill which is a side-effect of my own development process
23:39 willthechill but presumably most people like to install their CPAN stuff system-wide
23:40 willthechill which presumably requires some kind of functioning `make install`, yes?
