00:18 travis-ci RPerl build passed. Will Braswell says 'Require Inline::CPP v0.74, Which Requires ExtUtils::CppGuess v0.11, Which Fixes The v0.10 cppflags Bug'
00:18 travis-ci https://travis-ci.org/wbraswell/rperl/builds/79762728 https://github.com/wbraswell/rperl/compare/aa5fcd7a92f4...88a8880847ec
00:18 willthechill YAY!
00:19 willthechill bulk88++
02:35 RenatoCRON willthechill, one thing that I don't get right yet is: the goal is get 100% of perl working into rperl, like, one day is possible to run Catalyst?
02:35 willthechill RenatoCRON: yes this will happen someday in the future
02:36 willthechill it took 28 years to get us into this situation, it will take a few more to get it fixed
02:48 RenatoCRON Greate
02:48 RenatoCRON chop
02:48 RenatoCRON I will continue to keep an eye on it
02:49 RenatoCRON maybe trying to run something lighter like Plack or even before that
02:49 * RenatoCRON like speed and perl!
02:50 RenatoCRON I'm almost going to use Go because of some critical latency apps
02:50 willthechill okay well to be realistic we are probably years away from running even Plack, much less Catalyst
02:50 willthechill but anything you write from scratch can be done today in RPerl
02:50 willthechill and will be faster than Go
02:51 RenatoCRON willthechill, yeah, but the point is, writing from scratch from connect till json it's not easy/reliable for one person
02:54 willthechill okay
03:50 willthechill bulk88: so what's the deal with cpants?
04:56 travis-ci RPerl build passed. Will Braswell says 'CPAN Release, v1.100001; Support Monolithic Modules'
04:56 travis-ci https://travis-ci.org/wbraswell/rperl/builds/79785813 https://github.com/wbraswell/rperl/compare/88a8880847ec...b71b4146b03a
07:05 bulk88 willthechill cpants is a "best practicies" evaluator of tarballs on CPAN, it is a static evaluation of a tarball, no code in the tarball is executed, I disagree with some of the rules, so I refuse to fix the last 2 problems the tool claims http://cpants.cpanauthors.org/dist/Win32-API
07:05 bulk88 for my module
07:05 willthechill okay gotcha
07:06 willthechill any indication when cpantesters will be back online?
07:06 rurban joined #perl11
07:06 bulk88 it used to be worse, http://cpants.cpanauthors.org/dist/Win32-API/releases but I fixed the things I agreed with, so the score went up over time
07:09 bulk88 about cpantesters, the clock is currently 00:00:00 http://www.congress.nsc.org/NSC2014/Custom/ProductLarge1716.jpg jkjk
07:10 willthechill haha yes well then!
07:10 willthechill so no real indication of when it will be fixed?
07:11 bulk88 no, the primary maintainer/dev of it has publically mentioned he has no time to fix it, and has turned it over to an anonymous volunteer, for him/her to try to fix
07:11 bulk88 it
07:12 bulk88 willthechill this is the only alternative for cpantesters i know of http://code.activestate.com/ppm/RPerl/
07:12 willthechill Barbie?
07:14 bulk88 http://blog.cpantesters.org/diary/199
07:14 willthechill LOL activestate says RPerl fails on everything  :P
07:14 bulk88 click the red dot, there are build logs available
07:16 willthechill yeah those build logs are full of crazy
07:16 willthechill I'm going for "that service is mostly useless"
07:17 bulk88 cc1plus: error: unrecognized command line option "-Wno-reserved-user-defined-literal"
07:17 bulk88 cc1plus: error: unrecognized command line option "-Wno-literal-suffix"
07:17 bulk88 cc1plus: error: unrecognized command line option "-std=c++11"
07:17 bulk88 eval_429_3a53.c:1: error: bad value (native) for -march= switch
07:17 bulk88 eval_429_3a53.c:1: error: bad value (native) for -mtune= switch
07:17 bulk88 make[1]: *** [eval_429_3a53.o] Error 1
07:17 bulk88 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/fly1800/var/cpan/build/RPerl-1.1-DhEwOa/_Inline/build/eval_429_3a53'
07:18 willthechill yeah there's alot more wacky stuff than just that
07:18 willthechill but that's a good start!
07:18 willthechill and by "good start" I mean "I'm not even going to bother with that stuff right now"
07:19 bulk88 the GCC is a couple years old on that build farm, either you choose to support it, or not (and you choose not 2 years ago)
07:19 willthechill less of a "choice" than "there is no other decent option", but whatever
07:20 willthechill old compilers are garbage
07:20 willthechill and yes, I know you love your crappy old compilers  ;)
07:22 bulk88 a C compiler from 1996 can compile any .o faster than to print that it is done in the console
07:23 bulk88 I use a 2002 era CC for daily compiling, it has WPO, but is sitll very fast
07:24 willthechill I'm fine with old computers but I'm not fine with old compilers  :P
07:30 bulk88 lol
08:59 travis-ci RPerl build passed. Will Braswell says 'CPAN Release, v1.000002; Enable Subcompile Phase'
