16:45 Coke Anyone built rperl on OS X?
17:13 Coke lots of failures in make test, I'm assuming because I'm using the os-shipped g++ (which has a lot more version information than I can easily compare to "v4.7", but I'm assuming is too old.

20:36 willthechill Coke: so far it is rurban who has built on OS X
20:36 willthechill rurban: you around?
20:37 willthechill Coke: you fail a very early test in t/03_inline_cpp.t
20:37 willthechill please run that one test file manually so we can see exactly which test fails
20:43 esaym153 rperl on hackernews: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=10261465  vote up if you want :)
20:46 Coke what's the command line to run a single test?
20:49 Coke ah, much better if I use the perlbrew I tried to run with hours ago. one moment.
20:49 Coke willthechill: https://gist.github.com/coke/3a4e5a1f0989167f0b24
20:54 willthechill Coke: checking now
20:56 willthechill ah yes, I've seen that error before
20:56 willthechill doesn't match '/Object\ \(0x\w*\)/'
20:56 willthechill can't remember exactly WHEN I saw it, though!  :P
20:56 Coke heh.
20:56 willthechill I think it must've been from somebody else's tests
20:56 willthechill because it wasn't on my Linux tests
20:57 willthechill so it's not terribly surprising
20:57 willthechill I only have Linux, sorry.  :(
20:57 willthechill rurban: you here?
20:59 willthechill esaym153: done, thanks!  :)
21:00 willthechill Coke: the good news is, you are not failing ALL tests, haha!
21:00 willthechill okay now how about running the next round of failing tests with more detailed output, since we are temporarily stuck on the t/03 error
21:00 willthechill ?

21:14 willthechill Coke: are you running this using the CPAN release code, or using the latest Github code?
21:23 Coke github.
21:24 Coke aece050
21:24 Coke I can checkout a tag and retry if you like.
21:39 willthechill oh dang okay!  yeah the github code is in flux and is responsible for all the errors after t/03
21:39 Coke apologies for the confusion.
21:40 willthechill try this one
21:40 willthechill https://github.com/wbraswell/rperl/commit/ebc37598770ab747a5f23b9631a39378ad75a644
21:40 willthechill that should be the exact same code which is now on CPAN
21:40 willthechill however the t/03 error I think is related to Macintosh
21:42 Coke yup, that still fails.
21:49 willthechill so is only t/03 failing now, and everything else passes?
22:00 Coke yes, much better, thanks.
22:02 Coke does rperl ship with any examples to bench against perl?
22:03 * Coke digs through the website.
22:05 Coke the website refers to lib/RPerl/Algorithm/Sort/Bubble.pm - is there an example script to use as opposed to a module?
22:06 willthechill this page references "section 3 of the INSTALL notes"   http://rperl.org/use_rperl.html
22:06 willthechill here are the parts of section 3 you want:   http://rperl.org/use_rperl.html
22:06 willthechill OOPS
22:06 willthechill https://github.com/wbraswell/rperl/blob/master/INSTALL#L160-L196
22:07 willthechill instructions for benchmarking bubble and also n-body
22:10 Coke # Run RPerl test commands from within RPerl installation directory
22:10 Coke ... this directory does not exist.
22:11 willthechill yes that's a small difference between running installed vs not installed
22:11 * Coke commutes. Adios.
22:11 willthechill just add lib/ or whatever you need to make it a valid path
22:12 willthechill okay, talk to you later!
