09:13 rurban appveyor passes now
09:13 travis-ci perl11/cperl#566 (smoke/appveyor - 0468242 : Reini Urban): The build passed. https://travis-ci.org/perl11/cperl/builds/97165120
09:43 travis-ci perl11/cperl#567 (smoke/appveyor_verbose_waithires_t - 9b2cc72 : bulk88): The build passed. https://travis-ci.org/perl11/cperl/builds/97167382
09:49 bulk88 I have a branch up to see ../dist/threads-shared/t/waithires.t in verbose, there might be a real issue behind, not just old cpan modules
09:49 bulk88 The -T path tain failure messages are seen on p5p perl, I dont think that is the problem with waithires.t
09:51 rurban ok
09:51 rurban my skip branch passed. maybe we can do better
09:52 rurban btw. modernizing the builtin libs (signature speedup and free type checks) led to one more signature bug. almost looking modern now, just no class/method now. still need to declare ($self)
09:53 bulk88 setting PATH to empty string on Windows makes it impossible to start processes, since the system DLLs can't be found, there is special casing in perl C code and the .t files to deal with it, but unix devs just assume PATH can be safely nuked (empty string) when it cant be on windows
09:54 rurban "Socket::pack_sockaddr_in6 not implemented on this architecture" windows really?
09:54 bulk88 so  occasionally ther eis breakage
09:54 bulk88 you need a newer Socketfrom CPAN I think
09:54 rurban did they nuke PATH again?
09:55 rurban That's IO::Socket::IP. it should have win32 support builtin really
09:55 bulk88 I dont know, it is a problem I saw before, I am just guessing ideas on what it could be
09:56 rurban I'll merge my smoke/appveyor branch soon, with the skip of waithires.t
09:56 rurban but the -T watchdog problem bothers me
09:57 rurban in the signature branch I need a timeout, because I got a hang in perldb
09:57 rurban Config looks pretty good now btw, thanks
09:57 bulk88 the watchdog normally works, but 180 seconds is a long long time without parallel testing
09:57 rurban almost ready for CPAN
09:58 rurban yes, too long
09:58 bulk88 I built XS Config for CPAN, tested it on P5P perl today
09:58 bulk88 needed 3 screenfuls more of code
09:58 rurban maybe change 180 on $ENV{APPVEYOR}
09:58 rurban and please mv the new test to t/
09:58 bulk88 and EUMM throws warnings that the perl install is broken, since EUMM contains a sanity cehck that forbids COnfig.pm from being in /site
09:59 bulk88 not forbids but loudly warns
09:59 rurban oh!
09:59 rurban mohawk maybe
09:59 bulk88 http://paste.scsys.co.uk/502863
10:00 rurban thats hillarious
10:00 rurban but just a simple bug
10:00 bulk88 nobody ever thought Config.pm would ever be "field replaceable"
10:01 rurban my new parrot appveyor smokes went green in one day, very simple fixes
10:02 rurban even if used with a wrong mingw perl, where it expects a msvc perl
10:03 bulk88 my XS Config changes for CPAN are way too hackish to publish, and they would break cperl if I tried to integrate them, it will be a couple days for me to get the the changes into a state to commit to cperl, at that point I guess XS Config will move from ext/Config to dist/Config
10:05 rurban no problem
10:05 rurban have to leave now...

18:58 rurban Benchmarking now the semi-modern perl featurex/gh7-sig+libs. Oops. I'm 1.15% slower, because of the added arity and typechecks with signatures.
18:59 rurban Let's see how much faster than perl5.22.0 still…
19:11 rurban only 2% faster...
