17:20 rurban So the new pumpking sawyer x wants to talk to me to stop the "damaging criticsm" of mine on p5p's work. we'll see how that will out, as I see no chance that he can improve the situation.

18:03 rurban What I can promise him is, that if he manages not to interfer negatively as before with the development of perl5, I'll stop criticise their stupidity. No new and removed features by themselves (e.g. signatures, ours are fine, theirs are not), fixing security problems properly and ASAP and not at all as with Storable right now. They can watch how our cperl features are working out, but as long as they have a broken devel
18:05 rurban And he needs to stop the most harmful top4 guys there (I am already down from 5 to 4). What they are doing is just too net negative.
18:07 rurban dupl (missing from log): but as long as they have a broken development process they shouldn't do more harm to the language.
19:12 willthechill rurban: I believe this may be a chance to "start over with a clean slate"
19:16 rurban no, you are disillusional. it's the death of perl5
19:16 rurban at least we are well-prepared for the plan b
19:19 rurban I know exactly what will happen. they will declare victory and a new age of "modern perl" with the merge of davem's new signatures. which will have a horrible feature set and wrong API. so the schism is complete then. they'll have no way to go forward, but will continue to lie about it.
19:20 rurban and sawyer x will be in no position to understand 1% of it
19:23 rurban and nobody from p5p will care at all
19:24 rurban the perl foundation also does not care at all
19:26 rurban and since they effectively villified me, and not anyone else dares to step up criticising the damage they are doing, they are dead.
19:26 ribasushi willthechill: dialing my cynicism to the absolute minimum, I still have to agree with Reini :/
19:27 rurban the managed to convert the technical debt to my "personality problem"
19:28 rurban btw. most dynamic languages had the exact same problem with their compiler guys. python, ruby, php, lua. all led to fights, villification and schism
19:29 rurban all compiler guys had to fork and work on their better versions. most famous probably luajit, as most successful one
19:30 ribasushi willthechill: personal problems notwithstanding the "death by a 1000 cuts" continues
19:30 rurban So I was well prepared. the problem is that technical incompetence led to an inacceptable product
19:30 rurban There are for sure personality problems with at least 2 p5p guys bullying me
19:31 ribasushi latest "surprise": http://blog.schmorp.de/2016-04-23-mathbigfloat-maintainer-fail.html
19:33 rurban great link. I smelled something when merging these Math::BigFloat changes. schmorp got it, I haven't found this
19:34 rurban same problems will appear with the new EU::MM and Test::Simple maintainers, but thanksfully those are in core, so I could fix and modernize them already. Some parts are always good.
19:34 rurban The problems are the mistakes which they refuse to fix, and the architectural problems
19:35 rurban podlators and Pod::Simple was also broken recently by the new maintainer. an over-architecture problem
19:36 rurban And I posted something about Storable, which is only a security problem, so no one will care
19:36 rurban http://blogs.perl.org/users/rurban/2016/04/storable-security-problems-and-overlarge-data.html
19:37 ribasushi rurban: you are rambling / preaching to the choir
19:37 ribasushi ;)
19:38 rurban well, only the friends of p5p are that stupid, everybody else acts rationally
19:40 rurban even davem turned from a net-negative to a net-positive lately. and from the 5.24 release only two grave mistakes by rjbs and father went it. 95% was good, if rjbs and father would stayed out it would even a very great step forward
19:40 rurban 20% faster, davem's CX changes, and ninstr() improvements
19:41 rurban and good improvements by jhi and khw as usual. aaron crane also did excellent work this release
19:42 rurban butsince rjbs together with father removed lexical-topic it's again a very problematic release, because I couldn't fix that yet, when merging the CX changes
19:46 rurban rockets game, im gone
