07:02 sergot hi FROGGS
07:02 sergot Do you know what is that: https://github.com/perl6/mu/tree/master/ext/libwww-perl/lib/HTTP ?
07:03 sergot Seems like HTTP::* stuff in p6
07:07 sergot moritz: I can se your commit, what are those files?
07:07 sergot see*
07:09 moritz sergot: looks like a very early attempt to port LWP::* to Perl 6
07:09 moritz sergot: feel free to steal from it if anything is stealable
07:11 sergot I should have started with this I think :)
07:11 sergot I'd steal something probably
07:12 moritz I totally forgot about it, sorry
07:14 sergot No problem, I learn more if I write by myself. :)
07:27 sergot What is Proxy(p6) used for?
07:33 moritz to execute code when somebody reads from or writes to a variable
07:35 sergot thanks :)
07:38 moritz m: my $p = Proxy.new(FETCH => { 42 }, STORE => -> $, $value { say 2 * $value }); $m = 8; say $m
07:38 moritz sergot: see #perl6
07:41 sergot moritz: ok, thanks ! :)
07:55 FROGGS sergot: sometimes it is good to start afresh, and not start with something that has a bad design (or no design at all)
07:56 FROGGS dunno if that applies to that piece of code, just wanted to tell
07:57 FROGGS and I guess it is easier for you to work on code you know in detail, rather than trying to improve something that kinda works to some degree
08:28 sergot true :)

13:51 sergot I've just decided, that I'll start (LWP)HTTP::Simple (or Client) and while writing I'll be extending Request and Response.
13:52 sergot According to this: https://metacpan.org/pod/LWP::Simple it's not so complex.
13:52 sergot So that'll be a good test for Request and Response
13:53 sergot :)
13:54 moritz +1
14:04 FROGGS +1
14:10 FROGGS sergot: please tell me when the client/agent/simple/w/e can fetch stuff... I wanna test that on MIRRORED.BY (utf8) and p6dists.json.gz (binary)
14:25 sergot this week I hope, I'll let you know.
14:25 sergot some new comments on my blog \o/
14:26 sergot it is really nice to get some feedback.
14:32 moritz aye
14:32 moritz but you're officially entitled to ignore bikeshedding / naming debates if you want to :-)
14:33 moritz btw, modules.perl6.org already has a HTTP::Client library
14:36 FROGGS yeah, we discovered that one before gsoc started...
14:36 FROGGS there are also two attempts to make bindings to openssl
