13:14 stmuk hmm I wonder if there is any reason the R* MSI can't be built with mingw
13:19 jnthn Probably no reason it coudln't be, though Rakduo is tested on MSVC regularly, and has been better optimized for MSVC too.
13:19 jnthn And MSVC is freely available anyway.

13:52 stmuk the MSI uses MSVC yes but I'm seeing less problems with R* NC  modules with mingw (I guess fewer test using MSVC)
13:52 stmuk also its fewer deps to install since mingw comes with strawberry perl anyway
