08:12 [ptc] moritz: have proof read the first two blog posts
08:26 moritz [ptc]: thanks!
08:27 moritz I've said it in #perl6, but I'll repeat it here: I fear I have to write instructions on how to get rakudo running
08:27 moritz and my plan is to use a docker based setup for that, to keep it minimal
08:28 moritz it's really just one 'docker pull', and then a lenghty-ish docker command line, which you can put into an alias, for example
08:29 moritz docker run -v $PWD:/perl6 -w /perl6 -it mj41/perl6-star perl6
08:30 Topic for #perl6book is now master plan: https://gist.github.com/moritz/2930131695511e6b5ec63d90e4ce9e7b logs: https://irclog.perlgeek.de/perl6book/today mailing list signup: https://perl6book.com/
08:31 [ptc] does the Docker solution work on Windows as well?
08:32 [ptc] just wondering about the platform independence of the installation, as readers will likely come from all walks of life
08:41 moritz that's the one big question
08:41 moritz https://docs.docker.com/engine/installation/windows/
08:47 [ptc] hrm, requires Windows 10 pro...
08:47 [ptc] would it be a bad idea to rely on a Rakudo Star release?
08:47 [ptc] that way there are packages for Windows, MacOS and Unixen
10:52 moritz [ptc]: I guess for windows I'll just recommend the .msi installation
10:55 [ptc] just a question: is it necessary to use a bleading edge Rakudo version for the examples you want to discuss?  If not, then an older Rakudo Star release might be good enough to get people up and running
10:55 [ptc] just an idea...
10:58 moritz [ptc]: I'll have one version with which everything is tested, and recommend that version
10:59 moritz so it'll likely be bleading edge when I start, and comfortably old when I finish :-)
11:01 [ptc] :-)
