02:38 Zoffix How did WWW-Lipsum get 3 points in the scores (http://cpan-prc.org/prc-scores.html) :S
02:38 Su-Shee_ joined #pr-challenge
02:39 Zoffix It's got 10% of fails => 1 point... That's it. Even if we assume "Has issues on RT" includes "Has issues on GitHub" that would still give it only 2 points:.
02:39 * Zoffix does a voodoo ritual for summoning neilb
02:45 Zoffix And "RDeps" I'm assuming means the number of modules that use the distro?
02:45 Zoffix Also wrong for WWW-Lipsum, unless you count BackPAN stuff.

07:52 fuzzix I think web gateways are pretty harmful for IRC... It's not quite AOL Usenet client bad, but from what I see web gateway users hang around for 5 minutes tops and never get answers.
07:55 fuzzix People click the web gateway link without really understanding the asynchronous nature of the medium, ask some questions, maybe a couple minutes later go "Anyone?!", you think "I can answer that!"
07:55 fuzzix But by then they're gone, thinking "IRC is garbage!"

09:51 monsieurp fuzzix: it's your fault
09:51 fuzzix Dang. I thought it might be, but didn't want to say.
10:05 monsieurp you scare newcomers away by not sending more PRs
10:05 monsieurp they feel it

15:30 hernan604 fuzzix: make a bot that detects nicks starting with mib_* or mibbit netmask. When such user joins, this bot will send a msg telling them not to go away and leave their email in pvt in case they leave without an answer.
15:32 fuzzix hernan604: I've seen that. Does it work?
15:33 hernan604 no idea
15:34 hernan604 but fairly easy to do

18:48 neilb ether: I’ve add a “hit list” to the home page: http://cpan-prc.org
18:48 neilb This is like the scoring table, but for dists without github repos, as you suggested
18:51 ether sweet!
18:53 ether you list this dist of mine - Dist-Zilla-Plugin-MungeFile-WithData
18:53 ether it was created in github and has always had metadata
18:53 ether but the dist changed names now
18:53 neilb ah
18:53 ether so something in your code is tripped up by that
18:54 ether also Tiny-Tiny - I gave that dist back to the original author, and now it's apparently vanished, weird.
18:54 ether I thought he'd done another release after I returned it to him
18:57 thrig make it Tiny-Tiny-ButLarger so you can find it?

23:44 neilb One PR done on the hit list (for GD) and email sent to the author of Net-Server. Quite a few of the top entries have a github repo, but for various reasons the repo’s not listed in the metadata
23:49 ether cool
23:50 ether oh yeah, another one of my dists on the hitlist -- Dist-Zilla-Plugin-NoTabsTests
23:50 ether also does not exist under that dist name.
23:50 kid51_ joined #pr-challenge
23:50 ether I'm curious what your code is doing to derive this list :)
23:54 neilb it’s piggy-backing on the DB that I use for the adoption list. I have stuff for adding new dists, but not (yet) for noticing that a dist has gone, and removing it from my DB :-)
23:55 ether are you doing the initial search based on modules?
23:55 ether I mean - how would you ever end up with that dist name to begin with?
23:55 vroom joined #pr-challenge
23:56 neilb has the dist Dist-Zilla-Plugin-NoTabsTests previously existed?
23:56 ether yes
23:57 ether where are you getting the original list of dist names?
23:57 neilb see previous comments: I don’t have code for noticing that a dist no longer exists on CPAN
23:57 ether I mean - there is no index for dists - only for modules
23:57 ether so I'm curious where it's coming from
23:58 neilb it was previously on CPAN, so I saw the dist and the modules in it, and as a result added it to my DB
