00:29 ether neilb-- # you didn't look for https://github.com/rjbs/Test-Deep/pull/23 first.
00:29 ether where I'd fixed this, already, last month!
00:31 jamessan neither did you :)
00:38 ether two wrongs don't make a right! :)
00:38 neilb maybe having two PRs to do the same thing will encourage at least one of them to be merged!
00:38 kid51 If I got to http://cpan-prc.org/hitlist.html and type in 'CPAN-Mini-Visit', I see that my CPAN distro CPAN-Mini-Visit-Simple is listed.  That should imply that it doesn't have a github repo.  But in fact it has had a github repo since 2010.
00:39 kid51 What am I missing?
00:39 jamessan neilb: just bar rjbs from participating further until one or both of those are merged :)
00:39 kid51 Same thing for List-Compare
00:40 jamessan kid51: metadata declaring the repo
00:41 kid51 Can you post a link to an example?
00:41 kid51 Would I declare that metadata in Makefile.PL?
00:42 jamessan wherever it would end up in META.* like https://metacpan.org/source/TODDR/IPC-Run-0.94/META.yml
00:43 ether kid51: see the PR I just submitted to TEst-Deep, 10 lines up, for an example.

15:41 Zoffix What's the proper way to update your fork after the original repo got new commits in it? I submitted a PR, the guy merged it and then made some commits of his own. My fork is now 3 commits behind. How do I make it same as the guy's original repo?
15:41 thrig joined #pr-challenge
15:41 Zoffix I see "Create a pull request" button on GitHub, but won't that make my fork have an extra commit...?
15:47 Zoffix Yup, an extra commit... but I guess that doesn't matter.

17:36 neilb Zoffix: https://help.github.com/articles/syncing-a-fork/
17:36 neilb You might want to read the page referenced in the tip at the top of the page, first
17:37 ether git checkout <his branch>; git pull --rebase; git checkout <your branch>; git rebase <his branch>
17:37 ether basically, you want to understand how rebasing works :)
17:37 Zoffix OK, I'll read up on it
17:37 ether and when you do, it will rock your world because it is very powerful
