13:32 gryphon Looks like this month is shaping up to be the third month where my PRs are ignored. At least this time, I decided to try to get the maintainer to reply to me before I do any work.
13:34 gryphon Has there been any thought to "prequalifying" modules by only assigning those with maintainers who reply to email?
13:35 Lee gryphon: my approach is now to contact author via e-mail/twitter/whatever
13:35 Lee if they don't reply then either make the most trivial PR possible or request something else
13:36 Lee e.g: https://twitter.com/lee_a_j/status/594032577184411648
13:36 Lee still no response from my follow-up tweet
13:36 gryphon heh
13:36 gryphon I'm still waiting for my first reply. :(
13:36 Lee yeah
13:36 gryphon But I'd rather be here than having submitted a few PRs that get ignored forever.
13:36 Lee i'll ask once more next week and if he doesn't reply then i'm going to call this one a lost cause
13:37 * pink_mist found the maintainer over in #perl on freenode once, that was a stroke of luck :P
13:37 gryphon Just seems weird. If someone emailed me about one of my modules offering to help, I'd be all kinds of happy.
13:37 Lee yes
13:38 Lee i know people are busy busy busy, but even a "ok, will look later" in a PR would make a world of difference
13:38 gryphon Actually, that happened once a few years ago for a module I completely lost interest in, so I just gave the guy control.
13:38 gryphon Yeah, the total silence bit is confusing to me.

15:01 neilb sorry gryphon. Interesting idea about pre-qualifying dists / authors.
15:02 neilb I could mail them and give a +1 to authors who respond to me, so that we assign dists where the pull crew member is likely to get a response.
15:46 gryphon neilb: Yeah, that could be cool. Give them infinite time to reply. And until they do, their mods are ranked lower.

16:47 ether re that tweet, the guy says he's looking for a new maintainer on all modules, so perhaps a PAUSE admin (*cough*) :) can add NEEDSHELP or HANDOFF as a comaintainer
16:47 ether it would also be lovely if metacpan put a label on such dists
