21:58 choroba I'm struggling with File::LibMagic
21:58 choroba I originally thought I'll fix it for OpenBSD, but then I realized I can't install it on Linux, either
21:59 vroom joined #pr-challenge
21:59 choroba It can't find magic.h to link against
21:59 choroba I know it's located in /usr/include/linux/ on openSuse, but I have no idea how to tell distzilla to use the path
21:59 choroba any ideas?
22:08 ether this isn't a Dist::Zilla problem
22:08 ether you need to pass a parameter to ExtUtils::MakeMaker
22:09 ether maybe LIBS - see its documentation
22:09 leont LIBS is affecting linking, not header inclusion
22:10 ether yeah this is stuff I don't know well :) what *I* woudl do is cargo-cult off of a dist that did something similar, or find someone more knowledgable (e.g. leont) :)
22:10 ether I wonder if it's the perl binary's fault for not being compiled with the right switches?
22:11 leont If If it's in /usr/include/linux/, it's probably not portable ;-)
22:12 tinypig left #pr-challenge
22:12 leont I doubt that's the one you want, really
22:13 leont It's more likely that one is missing the header files
22:15 leont Also, «#define NEED_sv_2pv_flags_GLOBAL» *after* «#include "ppport.h"» is a bit silly
22:15 thrig choroba: p5-File-LibMagic-1.09 is in the OpenBSD ports
22:17 choroba yeah, the problems started at 1.11
22:18 jamessan Isn't libmagic the more likely candidate?
22:20 choroba ok, I needed to install the file-dev package
22:21 choroba now I'm getting the same test failures as shown for OpenBSD at http://www.cpantesters.org/distro/F/File-LibMagic.html?oncpan=1&distmat=1&version=1.12&grade=3
22:22 choroba ie charset is reported as "unknown" for pdf's, but the test expects "binary"
22:26 choroba After changing the test to expect "unknown" in 3 places, I'm still getting failures in spell-checking ("RT" and "org" are unknown words)
