07:59 ptc I've come across a strange problem with my project for this month (Kavorka).  The project doesn't have a Makefile.PL or Build.PL; it has a dist.ini, but the two lines therein are commented out
07:59 ptc there doesn't seem to be a way to build the project from source
08:00 ptc is there some other special way to build a distribution, which might not be so obvious?
08:00 ptc I've contacted the dist's author, but as yet haven't heard anything

09:37 leont ptc: I think you need Dist::Ink to build it

09:47 ptc leont: ok, that one's new to me.  Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out
09:50 leont It's his personal tool

16:16 ether repositories that don't have a Makefile.PL/Build.PL really need a document explaining how to build it
16:16 ether not having one is pretty hostile to potential contributors
16:24 thrig (including all necessary commands to bootstrap e.g. dzil + whatever extras)
16:30 ether I try really hard to make it such that you don't have to do a dzil build to run tests - e.g. either "prove -lr t" will just work, or there is a tiny Makefile.PL in the repo that will let you do make t"make test"
