14:24 hbroyn hi
14:40 openstackgerrit A change was merged to stackforge/puppet-horizon: Fix readme typos  https://review.openstack.org/55689

15:03 dmsimard mkoderer / dalgaaf_: Can you guys take a look at the pull requests and merge them if they're okay? :D
15:04 dalgaaf_ Okay
15:20 dachary hbroyn: & all : there is a problem with your review. https://review.openstack.org/#/c/55807/ is not in the correct module, it should be puppet-ceph and not puppet-openstack
15:21 dachary do you see what I mean ?
15:21 hbroyn yes we do
15:21 dachary ok :-)
15:21 hbroyn okey we will redo it
15:21 dachary I suggest you just abandon this one and submit another. Now that you know how it should be done, that will be quick.
15:22 hbroyn which one we should submit ?
15:23 dmsimard dachary, hbroyn: I'm not going to be able to +1 that, it provides instructions that does not currently work/don't exist yet
15:24 rmoe joined #puppet-openstack
15:24 dachary dmsimard: that's a valid concern
15:25 rongze joined #puppet-openstack
15:27 dmsimard *nod*
15:40 dachary dmsimard: I'm eager to get to work on the puppet-ceph  module :-)
15:41 piliman974 joined #puppet-openstack
15:42 dmsimard dachary: Been working with DTAG a bit on their branch for MDS/OSD since that's what I'm using at the moment, also patched radosgw upstream. I'm not sitting idle here :)
15:42 dmsimard dachary: The work I'm doing for the current puppet-ceph will surely end up on stackforge anyway
15:42 dachary dtag ?
15:43 mkoderer dachary: deutsche telekom
15:43 dachary ah :-)
15:45 dmsimard dachary: Noted that with my recent commits, everything seems to work well up to Emperor :)
15:45 dmsimard So that's good news

15:52 dachary any issue with emperor so far ?
15:52 dalgaaf_ dmsimard: I commented on the MDS related pull request ... only one small finding
15:53 dmsimard dalgaaf_: I checked the documentation, it doesn't seem like there is a "allow *"
15:54 dmsimard dalgaaf_: (I checked on http://ceph.com/docs/master/rados/operations/authentication/)
15:54 dmsimard dalgaaf_: Oh, actually, there is a *
15:54 dalgaaf_ jep
15:54 dmsimard dachary: Not that I can tell so far - the only fixes required for my CI was in the puppet module
15:58 dmsimard dalgaaf_: Also note that there was no * before, I'm confused

18:01 mjblack Hi, can I get reviewers for https://review.openstack.org/#/c/55303/ https://review.openstack.org/#/c/55296/ and https://review.openstack.org/#/c/53430/ ?

18:30 mrbucket hey, i'm running into "Invalid parameter config_hash at /etc/puppet/modules/development/openstack/manifests/db/mysql.pp:83"
18:30 mrbucket went through the instructions a few times, but no dice
18:31 mrbucket i'm using the 2.2 version off puppetforge with puppet 3.2.3. any thoughts?
18:37 hogepodge joined #puppet-openstack
18:37 hogepodge I thinking heat and ceilometer should depend upon keystone, right?
18:55 mjblack yes
18:55 mjblack hogepodge: yes since they require it to work
18:57 hogepodge That's what I thought. I'm working up the releases for the Havana modules right now. It's going to take a bit of time to do. The Modulefile and fixtures.yml files need to be updated to point to the stable/havana branch. We should also express those dependencies in master.
18:57 hogepodge I'm going to be working on the stable/havana branch. It's too much of a pain to put release specific stuff in master then cherry pick back.
18:57 hogepodge (plus it annoys some developers to do that) :-)
18:59 mjblack think you got time to review my changes? I want to see if I can get them merged before the havana branching :D
19:08 hogepodge That's really strange. I branched stable/havana last week, and the branches were merged back into master
19:08 hogepodge Not quite sure what I did wrong.
19:11 xarses joined #puppet-openstack
19:13 hogepodge Maybe it's a github thing if no changes have been sent to the branch.
19:14 hogepodge mjblack: that is to say, any commits will need to be cherry picked at this point.
19:14 hogepodge I'll get some reviews in, though.
19:15 mjblack hogepodge: thats fine, I think the keystone apache wsgi change is a much needed one
19:15 mjblack hogepodge: so I'm ok with doing a little extra effort :D
19:25 dmsimard xarses: I saw your branch for RHEL with ceph::repo
19:25 xarses dmsimard: yep
19:25 dmsimard xarses: Can you make sure you do two different commits ? One for RHEL and the other for adding radosgw/changing how you work with apt
19:26 xarses sure
19:26 dmsimard s/commits/reviews/
19:26 xarses i got the idea
19:27 dmsimard xarses: that fastcgi thingy wasnt going to be merged upstream you said right
19:27 dmsimard xarses: I think we need to find a way to do it, it's so messy this way
19:27 xarses dmsimard: it appears to be abandoned
19:27 dmsimard xarses: What happens if there's another bug that is fixed by a version upstream and the local bugfix isnt in the version upstream :(
19:28 dmsimard xarses: Did you ask in #ceph-devel ?
19:28 dmsimard (otherwise I can ask)
19:28 xarses dmsimard: yes, joshd said that they sent the patches to the mailing list
19:28 openstackgerrit A change was merged to stackforge/puppet-swift: Preparing for 2.2.1 release  https://review.openstack.org/55628
19:29 xarses and they where never posted
19:29 xarses looking at the "official" repo, it appears to be abandoned, there are no changes in quite a while
19:29 rongze joined #puppet-openstack
19:29 xarses we need to see if debian is using the same source or something else that someone is maintaining
19:32 xarses dmsimard: http://mailman.fastcgi.com/pipermail/fastcgi-developers/2010-September/000606.html
19:39 xarses mjblack: about https://review.openstack.org/#/c/55303/
19:40 mjblack xarses: hmm?
19:40 xarses mjblack: sorry, brain imploded and is restarting
19:43 xarses mjblack: nvm, i figured that out
19:46 hogepodge mjblack: I agree on that. I just started reviewing the changes. I really don't like the hardcoded --insecure. :-)
19:47 mjblack hogepodge: yeah, the original author did that, but I'm looking and it might be harder to make it an option
19:48 mjblack hogepodge: where it is used specifically would require to update all the other providers
19:50 mjblack I'd have to go in and update every provider to pass in "--insecure" if they have that option specified
19:51 mjblack and then all the puppet manifests too
19:51 xarses mjblack: added my comments
19:51 mjblack unless its defaulted to insecure
20:03 hogepodge I would be ok with defaulting it to insecure, as long as we can switch it to secure. Would that still introduce the same maintenance problem, though?
20:03 badiane_ka joined #puppet-openstack
20:04 hogepodge I imagine we could safely roll out changes to the rest of the manifests. It wouldn't break current behavior too by defaulting to insecure
20:24 xarses speaking of reviews, please review https://review.openstack.org/#/c/54591/

22:24 xarses how would i pass options to upstart service decl in puppet?
22:25 xarses just extend "name key=value"?
22:31 rongze joined #puppet-openstack
22:44 mjblack hogepodge: it wouldnt require manifest changes but it still pretty much has to touch every provider
23:21 dmsimard1 joined #puppet-openstack
