02:18 benh57 hey hoge, i noticed you're 'assuming' rhel7 for the Juno openstack modules, is that just to ease testing? I'll probably attempt them on my centos 6.5 servers

13:07 linux-uzer how are you folks? I am trying to run rabbitmq with ssl only. this does not work because puppet module sets port in rabbitmq-env.conf - this overrides tcp_listeners, [] in rabbitmq.config
13:08 linux-uzer for some reason we have such behavior on rh/centos
13:09 linux-uzer the workaround is to remove rabbitmq-env.conf entries or to set port to empty

14:27 Kieleth Hi everybody, I'm still trying to get to figure out if puppetlabs-openstack is limited to deploy just one openstack component/program/role per node? (I've tried to deploy a 2-node (1-controller-with-all and 1-compute) and I get puppet duplicated declarations, it fails when trying to assign 'controller' AND 'network' classes to a node.) Anybody knows is this by design? Is everybody in this room
14:27 Kieleth deploying 1component-per-node?

14:38 michchap Kieleth: I would expect it to work with control+compute roles, though I don't use puppetlabs-openstack myself so I can't give much more detail.
14:38 dgurtner joined #puppet-openstack
14:40 Kieleth michchap, expect is great, I was expecting it also to work :) . The mix with errors I've found is: controller + network roles
14:40 michchap Kieleth: what is the error?
14:41 JayJ joined #puppet-openstack
14:42 Kieleth michchap, duplicate declaration of class "Firewall", I did not try to hack it out in the manifest tho to check if it was the only one colliding
14:45 michchap Kieleth: yep, looks like each role is declaring the firewall class, so they aren't meant to be used together. That's not what I'd expect but it's clearly a design decision. The best people to ask would be crinkle or hogepodge.
14:46 michchap https://github.com/puppetlabs/puppetlabs-openstack/blob/master/manifests/role/controller.pp#L2 and https://github.com/puppetlabs/puppetlabs-openstack/blob/master/manifests/role/network.pp#L2

16:15 hogepodge Kieleth roles can't be reused. Profiles can. No need to compose roles from profiles. I'm considering removing roles entirely from the module (at lease my fork of it)
16:16 hogepodge Keileth if you're interested in Juno I have an active fork in my namespace under the juno-integrated branch.
16:27 xingchao_ joined #puppet-openstack
16:29 Kieleth hogepodge, that makes sense, so, if I want to install a node with all components-but-compute, I just need to use a combination of profiles, and don't use roles anywhere
16:29 hogepodge Yes, you want to create new roles.
16:30 Kieleth hogepodge, great, that explains, thanks for that!
