14:07 mwn3d_phone I want to make a karnaugh map task but I can't fifure out how to match the square number with the input mathematically.
14:07 mwn3d_phone It doesn't match with gray code all the time
14:08 mwn3d_phone For example: square 4 (second row, first square numbering from 0 in the top left) corresponds to an input of 4 but 4's gray code is 6
14:10 mwn3d_phone It could be done by setting up the axes in separate collections and just combining them to form the input string, but id like to do it mathematically
14:22 mwn3d_phone I guess its grayCode(row) << 2 + grayCode(col)
14:23 mwn3d_phone No promises for 5-variable k-maps though
14:24 opticron multivariate kmaps get hard to deal with above 4 variables
14:24 opticron either they're huge or you split them into multiple planes
14:26 mwn3d_phone Yeah I was taught to split them into multiple 4-var ones
14:26 mwn3d_phone For 5 I had the first 16 inputs in a normal 4-var on the left with the 5th var being 0 for that whole square
14:26 opticron ditto
14:27 opticron surprisingly, I actually used a kmap at work last week
14:27 mwn3d_phone Then on the right I horizontally mirriored a 4-var k-map with the 5th var being 1
14:27 opticron to simplify a ridiculous if statement
14:27 mwn3d_phone Heh yeah. Sometimes it helps.
14:27 opticron that if() made so much more sense after simplification...
14:27 mwn3d_phone I used one once at an internship. I was pumped.

20:27 Markhobley[RCo] Hello
20:28 opticron hi
20:29 Markhobley[RCo] Hi! :)
20:29 Markhobley[RCo] I've just made a mistake with a rename on rosettacode.
20:29 Markhobley[RCo] I tried to fix it, and it made a right mess.
20:30 mikemol I looked over it, and I'm uncertain exactly what order edits need to be undone to clean it up.
20:30 mikemol Probably oldest to newest, but I'm not certain.
20:30 mikemol Don't have time to do it myself.
20:30 Markhobley[RCo] Yeah, I was hoping it was top down, but that didn't work for me
20:30 Markhobley[RCo] No problem mike.
20:30 Markhobley[RCo] It will get sorted, I am sure.
20:31 mwn3d_phone Markhobley[RCo]: I can help
20:31 mwn3d_phone what was the original intent?
20:32 Markhobley[RCo] Well, I just wanted a simple rename, but I clicked it on the talk page, and it just went downhill from there.
20:32 Markhobley[RCo] As I tried to backout, the redirects got in the way
20:32 mwn3d_phone Well you would want to take the talk page with it for a rename
20:33 Markhobley[RCo] and then my browser autofilled in a wrong title and doubled the trouble
20:33 mwn3d_phone What were you trying to rename to what?
20:34 Markhobley[RCo] Yeah, I know, I tried to rename "Call a function from a foreign language" to "Use another language to call a function"
20:34 mikemol I'm guessing he was on the Talk page for the source page when he tried the move, which led to the resulting issues.
20:34 mwn3d_phone Ok well that one happened
20:34 mwn3d_phone Oh wait
20:35 mwn3d_phone "Another" not "foreign"
20:35 Markhobley[RCo] Yeah, I typed another, but the browser autofilled foreign
20:35 mwn3d_phone Right now its "use a foreign language to call a function"
20:35 Markhobley[RCo] Yeah, but the content is a talk page
20:36 mwn3d_phone Heh ok...let me look at this a bit and try to figure it out
20:36 Markhobley[RCo] no problem
20:37 Markhobley[RCo] you haven't got an antivandalism key, that will just back uit out then?
20:37 Markhobley[RCo] :)
20:37 mwn3d_phone What?
20:38 Markhobley[RCo] i thought maybe you had a special button that would just quickly undo
20:39 mwn3d_phone We do but it doesn't come up for page moves
20:39 mikemol Markhobley[RCo]: We do, but it apparently only works for edits within a page.
20:39 mwn3d_phone Ok so it looks like the "speedy" edit didn't need to happen at all
20:40 mwn3d_phone So I'm just gonna undo that right now. Then the talk page content will be in the right place.
20:40 Markhobley[RCo] Yeah, that was strange. I used google to find that
20:40 mikemol Markhobley[RCo]: FWIW, thanks for stopping and poking me when you noticed things were getting worse.
20:40 mwn3d_phone The speedy template is on wikipedia
20:40 mwn3d_phone Its not part of our system at all
20:40 Markhobley[RCo] No problem Mike :)
20:41 mwn3d_phone I think its all right now
20:41 Markhobley[RCo] ok. I will have a look. Cheers.
20:42 mwn3d_phone Aside from behind the scenes double/triple/n-tuple redirects :p
20:43 mwn3d_phone Oh crap
20:43 mwn3d_phone No its not
20:43 mwn3d_phone Bah
20:43 mwn3d_phone I'll fix it again
20:46 mwn3d_phone Ok. NOW its right.
20:46 Markhobley[RCo] Right. :)
20:46 mwn3d_phone That mess wasn't so bad
20:47 mwn3d_phone FFR if you need a page deleted we have [[template:remove]]
20:48 fedaykin http://rosettacode.org/wiki/template:remove
20:48 Markhobley[RCo] You don't reckon :)
20:48 Markhobley[RCo] It was giving me a right headache.
20:48 mwn3d_phone Its no worse than messes of wires I made for myself in college :p
20:50 Markhobley[RCo] Ha ha! Actually, I used to do that sort of stuff too :)
20:51 Markhobley[RCo] Still, at least its not at the college where I work :)
20:52 mwn3d_phone All the redirects are cleaned up now too
20:52 mwn3d_phone And now its time to go home. If anything else looks broken let me know. I can fix it on the train but I can't promise it'll be fast.
20:53 Markhobley[RCo] No problem. I was going to enter something, but I have completely forgotten what it was now!
20:53 Markhobley[RCo] never mind!
20:53 Markhobley[RCo] thanks for your help.
20:54 Markhobley[RCo] see you later guys!
