16:19 * mikemol nods
16:20 mikemol I moved a bunch of pages because the titles were too long. (Poking at the X-of-the-day stuff, and things needed to be shorter for me to be able to prefix a link with a task name)

16:48 mwn3d_phone Here are some questions where once we get answers we can make a task out of it maybe:
16:49 mwn3d_phone How many different possible setups are there in solitaire (also called "klondike solitaire" or "patience")?
16:49 mwn3d_phone How many of them are unbeatable?
16:50 benbe2 52!/(size of each stack!)
16:51 mwn3d_phone You can change the dealing rules (1-card, 3-card, set number of re-deals allowed, infinite redeals, etc.)
16:52 benbe2 ah mixed it up with the windows game.
16:53 mwn3d_phone It is the windows game
16:53 mwn3d_phone You can change those dealing rules there too
16:54 mwn3d_phone "Dealing" in this case is not setting the game up
16:54 mwn3d_phone Its getting new cards to make moves with
16:55 mwn3d_phone Maybe there's a better word for it but I've always called it dealing (like in spider solitaire)
16:56 mwn3d_phone Hmmm....maybe its more difficult that I thought...
16:57 mwn3d_phone "The odds of winning a standard game are currently unknown. It has been said that the inability for theoreticians to calculated these odds is 'one od the embarrassments of applied mathematics'" (WP)
17:01 mwn3d_phone I bet the answer is 42 unwinnable setups
17:01 mwn3d_phone So that's the great question

18:40 mwn3d_phone Whoa....accidentally clicked a rollback link but it failed. Why isn't there a confirmation dialog there?
18:42 mikemol mwn3d_phone: Remember when we'd just moved over to prgmr, and I was testing caching behavior? I told wget to spider the site, but I was stupid and gave it my login cookie.
18:43 mikemol Lost about six hours' worth of site activity as I re-restored the database...
19:02 mwn3d_phone Lol cause it clicked the rollback links?
19:23 mikemol mwn3d_phone: All of them. :)
19:24 mikemol For the previous three *month's* worth of edits, which would easily have resulted in reverting pages to whatever they were a year or two before that.
19:24 mwn3d_phone Another instance of computers doing exactly what you tell them to do

23:37 rodt lol im starting to worry about my lang
23:37 rodt a bf interpreter is pretty trivial in almost all langs...
23:37 rodt heres some of it in mine : http://imagebin.org/166284
23:37 fedaykin "Imagebin - A place to slap up your images."
23:38 rodt its nearly another 1/4 of that to the right as well :O
23:38 Hypftier Note that this doesn't apply to esoteric languages or languages of a wildly different paradigm.
23:38 rodt what bfs triviality ?
23:38 Hypftier it being trivial to implement
23:39 Hypftier Try it in Piet; or Whirl.
23:39 rodt yeah it got me thinking that in this stream paradigm, erm
23:39 rodt yeah
23:39 rodt stuff that requires turing power is non trivial
23:39 Hypftier Or in Labview, which isn't exactly esoteric, but very, very different :)
23:40 rodt yeah its completely different, i mean coders have xp in it
23:40 rodt its hard thinking in algo terms with it
23:40 rodt check out pi
23:41 rodt sec
23:41 rodt http://imagebin.org/166285
23:41 fedaykin "Imagebin - A place to slap up your images."
23:42 rodt you need a separate channel to loop each var
23:45 rodt i thought the bf interpereter wouldnt work because i forgot to synchronise the data access and program control stuff... luckily its either self syncing or theres enough delays built in with the ->"
23:45 rodt -"
23:46 rodt funnily enough tho, with all that mess... youd think you write something like that and theres lots of bugs
23:46 rodt i had 2 "bugs" one thing was connected wrong, which you see straight away and it gets instantly blocked because of it
23:47 rodt and the other error was i was setting the initial mem to Rs - whatever that is in asscci
23:47 rodt ... which again was easy to spot
23:47 rodt and it wasnt really an error as i changed it to that for some reason earlier.. and forgot about it...
23:55 rodt anyway i figured out how to the reflective stuff... so i can finally finalise the lang ;)
23:56 rodt ill simply design for an eigenratio of 1, so ai is possible... which was what it spose to be for int eh first place really....
