01:05 Alegend[RCo] Hey, guys.
01:07 mwn3d_phone Yo
01:08 Alegend[RCo] I need some help.
01:08 mwn3d_phone With what?
01:08 Alegend[RCo] My MD3 isn't assigning anything to anything.
01:08 Alegend[RCo] model.version = (uint8_t)mem[0] + ((uint8_t)mem[1] << 8) + ((uint8_t)mem[2] << 16) + ((uint8_t)mem[3] << 24);
01:08 Alegend[RCo] Does nothing.
01:09 Alegend[RCo] MD3 loader.
01:10 mwn3d_phone Does it evaluate to 0 or does it not assign anything at all?
01:11 mwn3d_phone that is...if model.version is something other than 0 does it change back to 0?
01:11 Alegend[RCo] At this point, model.version is random.
01:11 Alegend[RCo] It stays with the same value as before.
01:11 Alegend[RCo] Also, model.version is an int.
01:12 Alegend[RCo] mem is a char[4].
01:13 mwn3d_phone I'm not sure about the intricacies of those particular type interactions
01:13 mwn3d_phone Is there anyone here with more C knowledge that can help?
01:14 Alegend[RCo] It's a runtime error, by the way.
02:01 Coderjoe i would suggest using | instead of + for that
02:02 Coderjoe + brings in carry and sign extension and so on
02:03 Coderjoe so that last item will sometimes end up subtracting, i think
02:03 mwn3d_phone joined #rosettacode
02:21 Alegend[RCo] OK, I just modified it, and the code shows that I am getting the right values.
02:22 Alegend[RCo] However, I'm having problems assigning members of structs to each other, even though they're the same type.
02:22 Alegend[RCo] model.tagofs = header.tagofs;
02:22 Alegend[RCo] Does nothing at all
02:28 Alegend[RCo] Hello?
02:42 sorear Hi!
02:44 sorear Alegend[RCo]: your problem makes no sense.  Use -W -Wall -O, and if that doesn't reveal the problem, pastebin the code
05:38 mwn3d_phone mikemol: math tags seem to be disabled

13:45 mikemol mwn3d_phone: Ah. That *usually* happens in a server migration, but the mw release notes suggested something new was built-in.

14:48 mikemol I reinstalled texvc. Give it another try.
14:54 mwn3d_phone I still see the bare tags on [[pythagorean triples]]
14:54 fedaykin http://rosettacode.org/wiki/pythagorean_triples
14:54 mwn3d_phone Maybe its still cached?
14:54 mbishop I see tags too
16:19 mikemol Broke something.
16:19 mikemol I know.
16:22 mikemol ok, the math extension should work again. I forgot that it wasn't built-in as of MW 1.18.
16:25 mwn3d_phone No change yet
16:25 mikemol May take up to 15 minutes.
16:26 mikemol MW wouldn't have known to send a purge request to squid.
16:26 mikemol Try the tags on a scratchpage.
16:26 mwn3d_phone I tried editing the pyth trip page and doing a preview
16:27 mikemol hm
16:27 mwn3d_phone Thought that might get around the cache
16:27 mikemol Should; anything that does a POST should get around the cache.
16:28 mwn3d_phone It works
16:28 mikemol k
16:29 mwn3d_phone Someone actually edited the page
16:29 mikemol Now to figure out why I've got a bunch of these in the error log: [Wed Dec 14 16:29:46 2011] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Notice:  Uninitialized string offset: 0 in /var/www/rosettacode.org/public/mw/includes/Collation.php on line 97
16:30 mikemol [client 127.0.0.1] is an artifact of the squid caching; squid makes the requests.
16:31 mikemol Looks like something's calling "getFistLetter" on an empty string.
16:45 Coderjoe is that like "guess what letter I've got in my hand"?
16:45 mikemol heh

18:38 mwn3d_phone Someone get me away from the pyth triples task
18:39 mwn3d_phone Every time I feel like I've squeezed all the speed I can out of the brute force primitives method I find another property on the wikipedia page I can exploit
18:44 Kernigh[RCo] joined #rosettacode
18:50 Kernigh[RCo] Hello, hackers.
18:50 Kernigh[RCo] <math>anything</math> seems to be broken on every page until someone edits the page.
18:55 mwn3d_phone Kernigh[RCo]: yeah mikemol re-enabled it earlier. Versions of the pages with it still disabled still seem to be in the cache.
19:02 mwn3d_phone Trying out the vector skin (what WP uses). Looks pretty good.
19:03 mwn3d_phone I wonder if there's something I can add to my user files to make it use simple or classic when I'm on a mobile device
19:04 mwn3d_phone Hmmm....there is this: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:MobileSkin
19:04 fedaykin "Extension:MobileSkin - MediaWiki" http://rldn.net/5dE
19:06 mwn3d_phone I wish I would have seen that before the upgrade weekend
19:09 mikemol "This extension allows users to have one username that automatically changes skin when the user is using a different type of device. This does assume a skin has been created and set up for each device type or a suitable skin already exists."
19:13 mwn3d_phone What am I supposed to take from that?
19:14 mikemol I think it means RC would need a theme or skin installed which was designed for mobile devices.
19:14 mwn3d_phone Oh
19:14 mwn3d_phone It suggests "chick" on that page
19:14 mikemol k
19:14 mwn3d_phone That actually looks pretty good
19:15 mikemol Can't install it right now, but I'll probably do it sometime this week.
19:15 mikemol If anyone cares to, I could use a list of any other extensions which could use updates, and any additional extensions or themes people would like to see added.
19:16 mikemol Some time relatively soon, I want to add a feature the P6 folks have wanted for a while...be able to emit code snippets without highlighting stuff added.
19:16 mwn3d_phone I put one on the upgrade weekend topic in the VP
19:16 mwn3d_phone Should we keep adding to that?
19:16 mikemol Sounds good
19:16 mikemol I'll keep an eye on it via the RC feed.
19:26 mwn3d_phone That extension might not work actually
19:27 mwn3d_phone Looks like people were reporting problems in MW 1.16 and 1.17
19:27 mwn3d_phone Not sure about 1.18
20:19 mwn3d_phone We have another svg problem here: [[File:GoYinYang.svg]]
20:19 fedaykin http://rosettacode.org/wiki/File:GoYinYang.svg
20:20 mwn3d_phone Not sure if its MWs fault or the files
20:21 Hypftier the file looks fine, but it's so simple that I doubt rsvg managed to break anything
20:22 Hypftier ah, nvm, rsvg appears to be missing
20:31 mikemol librsvg2-bin installed.
20:32 mikemol Looks like some horizontal vs vertical dpi weirdness there.
20:33 Hypftier might be because the <svg> element doesn't define a size.

23:16 mikemol Hm
23:16 mikemol I think Google Analytics may be underreporting site traffic by around 50%.
23:19 mwn3d_phone Disabled JS people?
23:19 mikemol Er. 50% of actual traffic. Grepping squid's access log for text/html shows 22,061 requests, where Google only shows 11,861 pageviews for the same day.
23:19 mikemol Possibly.
23:19 mikemol And other privacy extensions.
