16:24 mwn3d_phone Just saw a slashdot post about "perl data language". Doesn't look like we have it. Is it a new language or a perl library?
16:32 opticron might just be the perl variation of json
16:32 opticron I've not heard of it
16:41 mwn3d_phone I expect that if it actually has anything to do with perl then TimToady knows something about it
16:42 mikemol Saw it, looks like a data format.
16:42 mikemol Well, saw the Slashdot blurb. I didn't RTFA.
16:42 TimToady it's realy just a library
16:43 TimToady but does a lot of C-level array manipulation
16:43 TimToady *really
16:44 TimToady the attempt to bake a lot of PDL ideas into Perl 6 resulted in http://perlcabal.org/syn/S09.html, but it's still largely unimplemented in Perl 6
16:44 fedaykin "404 Not Found"
16:44 * opticron just saw mikemol's review of irssi connectbot
16:44 TimToady http://perlcabal.org/syn/S09.html without the comma, silly fedaykin
16:44 opticron lulz
16:44 fedaykin "S09"
16:45 opticron hmmm...i may have to tweak fedaykin's link scanning a tad
16:45 mwn3d_phone Once again these damn computers can't figure anything out for themselves. They only do exactly what we say.
16:47 mwn3d_phone opticron: I think commas are allowed in URLs though
16:47 mikemol opticron: Link?
16:47 mwn3d_phone I don't know if I've seen real URLs with commas at the end but I think its allowed
16:49 TimToady well, sometimes failure is the path to success :)
16:51 opticron https://market.android.com/details?id=org.woltage.irssiconnectbot&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsIm9yZy53b2x0YWdlLmlyc3NpY29ubmVjdGJvdCJd
16:51 opticron mwn3d_phone, they may be required to be urlencoded like most other things
16:52 opticron comma gets encoded
16:52 opticron I can strip it
16:53 mwn3d_phone As a test I just tried looking up my parents hometown on wp: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mechanicsburg,_Pennsylvania seems to work
16:53 fedaykin "Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia" http://rldn.net/Ax0C
16:54 opticron :/
16:54 mikemol I wouldn't worry about the comma behavior, code-wise.
16:55 mikemol Or, if you feel you have to do something, try with the trialing comma first. If that gives you a 404, try without.
16:55 opticron yeah
16:55 opticron I also need to fix some things related to pulling page titles

17:23 ttmrichter eMBee: 恭喜发财!
17:54 eMBee opticron: there is a task on  rc about extracting urls in text. with a discussion of the relevant issues
17:59 eMBee the short answer is, , is legal and does not need to be encoded
18:03 eMBee user expectation is of course somewhat different
18:05 eMBee in case of fedaykin it may be ok to drop the , at the end, or you could try both, if the detected url fails, try to fix it by remuving punctuation at the end
