16:45 mwn3d_phone Can't we just assume that no valid page will ever contain the word "penis" and stop users from creating such pages?
16:45 mikemol heh
16:45 * mikemol has an idea
16:47 mikemol Weird
16:47 mikemol I thought there was a MW setting to require preview before editing.
16:48 mwn3d_phone There was
16:48 mikemol I mean, that I could drop in LocalSettings.php.
16:48 mikemol Well, I've got to focus on work. If someone finds it, let me know.
16:49 mwn3d_phone There is "show preview on first edit"
16:50 mikemol Requiring previews for the Main: and User: namespaces would largely deal with our spam problem.
16:50 eMBee hmm, being able to force moderation if certain keywords are triggered would be nice
16:51 mikemol (Assuming their scripts aren't configured to cope with preview mode...which I expect they currently aren't.)

17:44 AbstractBeliefs afternoon, guys. whats the policy on how (and how much) code should be written? ie ( http://rosettacode.org/wiki/Even_or_odd#Python ) has numerous methods noted at the top, but only one implementation
17:44 fedaykin "Even or odd - Rosetta Code"
17:44 AbstractBeliefs would it be reasonable to fill in the others and make a cleaner version of whats already there?
17:49 mikemol AbstractBeliefs: Sure
17:50 AbstractBeliefs cool
17:50 mikemol Take a look at [[FizzBuzz]], for example; there are a bunch of approaches demonstrated for a bunch of different languages.
17:50 fedaykin http://rosettacode.org/wiki/FizzBuzz
17:53 * Hypftier sighs. Whoever wrote the PowerShell versions doesn't agree with my own definition of idiomatic code in that language :P
17:54 Hypftier turns out, it was myself 2.5 years ago. But someone modified it weirdly

18:21 mwn3d_phone AbstractBeliefs: I'm no expert python programmer (or even a novice) but looking at the old python solution could your return line be changed to "return bool(i % 2)"?
18:21 AbstractBeliefs it could
18:22 mwn3d_phone Who knows if that's better/more readable/more idiomatic or not but it looks cleaner to me
18:23 AbstractBeliefs is_false(i): return bool(i%2)
18:24 AbstractBeliefs i dont know. its personal opinion. i felt that the if-(mod)-else was most self-explanatory as it didnt leverage builtins. a fast version would be the older one if you wanted it

20:43 GlitchMr JavaScript confuses me...
20:44 GlitchMr Except that is Opera behavior
20:44 GlitchMr Firefox and Chrome make some weird functions instead...
20:45 GlitchMr Internet Explorer doesn't have global keys function (you should use Object.keys anyways)
