01:35 kpreid mikemol: FYI, I just noticed the Planet hasn't updated in months.
01:36 mikemol kpreid: Yeah, it's down. I need to get it running again.
01:36 kpreid May I suggest overwriting the page with a notice?
01:39 mikemol Will do
01:39 kpreid Or, better, putting a tall blurb at the top
01:39 kpreid preserve the sidebar links and feeds so people can still subscribe or follow links
01:39 mikemol I'm replacing it with an HTTP 503 notice for now

18:24 Gerard_Schildber Mike Mol (or somebody with suitable knowledge) --- I just renamed a programming entry (boxing the compass) that was written in OOREXX but was under the REXX header.  That is like someone entering a C++ under C.  What is the proper protocol for this sort of thing?  --- Gerard Schildberger.
18:25 Gerard_Schildber --- that is, what is the protocol for correcting this type of "error".?
18:48 mwn3d_phone Gerard_Schildber: no protocol really. Just move it to its proper place on the page. It can stay as a subheading under REXX or it can be its own language.
18:49 mwn3d_phone (Also you don't have to sign posts here either...we can see your name)
18:51 Gerard_Schildber well, I like it that everyone knows my full name, not just my nickname.
18:53 Gerard_Schildber I didn't think that an object orientated version of a language would have that much in common with it's parent, anymore that C++ would be under C.
18:54 mwn3d_phone It just depends on what that language community thinks about it. If they consider it a completely separate language (like C++ and C) then it can be that way on RC.
18:55 mwn3d_phone If they just consider it a different implementation (like some of the LISP flavors) then it stays in the same heading on task pages.

19:04 Gerard_Schildber No, OREXX was re-written from the ground up, hardly any (REXX/OREXX) interpreter code was shared, even though they were originally written by the same company (IBM).  OOREXX was first called OREXX. When it was turned over as public domand, it was renamed to OOREXX.  There are so many differences between the two languages, it almost a running joke.
19:05 Gerard_Schildber One infamous quip, any REXX program can run in OOREXX, except for these 50 differences...
19:06 Gerard_Schildber domand = damain.
