17:41 rindolf Hi all. http://rosettacode.org/wiki/Deal_cards_for_FreeCell - what is the licence of the pieces of code on Rosetta Code? The documentation licence is GFDL, but what about the code?
17:41 fedaykin "Deal cards for FreeCell - Rosetta Code" http://rldn.net/89a
17:41 mikemol rindolf: It's all GFDL.
17:42 rindolf mikemol: oh.
17:42 mikemol Some editors dual-license their contributions, but that's frankly of little utility. What's the license of a piece of code that's GFDL with a GPL-licensed patch?
17:42 mikemol Answer: wat?
17:43 mikemol But all contributions to the site are required to be licensed under the GFDL, at least.
17:43 mikemol rindolf: Now, AFAIK, there are no "invariable sections" on RC, so everything's currently still DFSG-compatible.
17:44 mikemol Invariable? Invariate? Don't remember. Been a while since I gave the license a thorough reading.
17:45 rindolf mikemol: OK.
17:46 rindolf So I guess I'll need to hack something on my own based on a C X11L code I have and the Microsoft Rand number generator I have in JS.
17:46 rindolf And then I'll contribute it to Rosetta code under the X11L... ;-)
17:46 mikemol rindolf: Feel absolutely free to use any of the code you find on RC as reference material. I highly recommend it.
17:46 rindolf mikemol: OK.
17:47 rindolf http://features.slashdot.org/story/13/01/06/163248/richard-stallman-answers-your-questions?sbsrc=md - I'm reading this now. I Was told he answered one of my questions.
17:47 mikemol And there's probably something to be said for the "there's only so many ways to represent $whatever" argument. The code under the conditional structures page is probably not enforcable, as far as copyright goes...

18:20 rindolf mikemol: BTW, there's also http://hyperpolyglot.org/ .

18:21 rindolf mikemol: nice.
18:21 mikemol If you find any more, please add them to that list. :)
18:21 rindolf mikemol: OK.

23:57 Dirkson Hey all. What license is the code on the site under?
23:58 Hypftier Content is available under GNU Free Documentation License 1.2.
23:58 Hypftier as it says in the footer
23:59 Dirkson Right, but some of the content is code. Is the code itself intended to be under this license?
