16:20 nono hey i have some jv code i'm learing its not compliing
16:21 nono anyone have a little time on their hands :D
16:25 mwn3d Jv?
16:26 nono yessir
16:26 nono javascript sorry
16:26 nono its only an 8 line code
16:28 nono <script language ="JavaScript">
16:28 nono var userInput = prompt(please enter a set of numbers or letters);
16:28 nono if ((userInput > 9)) {
16:28 nono alert (userInput "this is what you entered");
16:28 nono else if ((userInput < 9)) {
16:28 nono alert (userInput "this is what you entered");
16:28 nono </script>
16:33 mwn3d nono: Try looking at the Javascript examples in [[string concatenation]] and [[conditional structures]] to see the syntax for that stuff
16:33 fedaykin http://rosettacode.org/wiki/string_concatenation  http://rosettacode.org/wiki/conditional_structures
16:34 nono ty guys
16:34 mwn3d Also on the second line you're missing quotes
16:39 nono yea i was hoping javascript could see i was trying to pickup on the ascii values
16:41 nono quick question if i wanted to output letters and numbers seperate what would that be called
17:12 mwn3d That's one thing that Javascript can figure out on its own. If you concatenate the numeric variable just like you would with a string variable it will be able to handle it.
17:13 mwn3d Or you can put hard-coded numbers in a string literal (inside quotes)
