19:51 servabat Hey there, is there anyway i could download database dump (zim or something) of rosettacode to read offline?
19:55 ivanshmakov servabat: Unless I be mistaken, the things like “ZIM” are called “create a book” in MediaWiki.
19:56 servabat ivanshmakov, Wikimedia project allow to download the full articles database in order to read it offline
19:57 ivanshmakov servabat: Presumably, they have spare resources to allow for that.
19:58 servabat Thank you for your answer, I'm gonna take a look to that create a book functiob
20:00 ivanshmakov servabat: I’m not really sure it’s enabled on Rosetta Code. What’s worse, I somehow cannot find it on the WMF projects now, either.
20:03 servabat Ah :/ Well, I found a export page thing in special pages, might be that
20:03 ivanshmakov servabat: Well, I’ve just found that Special:Book page on English Wikibooks. No such special page apparently enabled on Rosetta Code, alas.
20:04 ivanshmakov servabat: If your software can read the format produced by Special:Export, – then just use it.
20:04 ivanshmakov servabat: What pages are you interested in, BTW?
20:06 servabat well, i'm interested in most pages, I enjoy reading rosetta code when in plane but atm i'm forced to open a lot of tabs and put it in cache
20:08 ivanshmakov servabat: I /guess/ that you can use a personal caching proxy instead, like Polipo. This won’t save you from opening a lot of pages initially, but then it should all “just work.” (Not that I’ve actually tried that, though.)

20:09 servabat Didn't knew anything like that. Gonna look this way, thanks
20:13 ivanshmakov servabat: Alternatively, you may check if the ZIM reader you use /does/ indeed support XML dumps, as produced with Special:Export. Otherwise, I’ve got an impression that ZIM /can/ be produced from such XML, so you can try to search for conversion tools. (I hope to investigate that later.)
20:14 ivanshmakov Or we can try to persuade the Rosetta Code maintainers to enable the extension which makes that Special:Book facility available.
20:16 servabat Right :) I'll try to contact them but I'm optimistic with that xml thing
