00:37 akoumjian Is there a way to extend the values for file_roots without overriding the master config? I knwo I can put extra configs in /etc/salt/master.d/*.conf but the default behavior is to override previous values

01:31 EugeneKay Make sure to enforce the same permissions it currently has(typically root:root and 440)
01:32 bluemoon joined #salt
01:32 EugeneKay I recommend testing with a different filename(in case you screw up the jinja templating) before making the state live, to keep from getting locked out.

01:51 akoumjian noob2: Not to my knowledge. Your simplest option would be running a series of cmd.run operations with however you are formatting the drives. Or you could write your own state module to make it nice and concise
01:52 noob2 ok
01:52 noob2 i'm working on getting salt to manage ceph and there's always drives needing to be formatted

13:08 jeddi rsimpkins: there's some issue, I recall reading about, with the way yaml interprets the leading 0.
13:08 jeddi unless that's not the problem you're referring to.
13:09 jeddi rsimpkins: http://salt.readthedocs.org/en/latest/topics/troubleshooting/yaml_idiosyncrasies.html#integers-are-parsed-as-integers was the bit I was thinking about.  it may not be what you're talking about :)

14:15 cce The last one in yaml_idiosyncracies is absolutely wrong, UTF-8 is the encoding for YAML.
14:27 ruimarinho what's the best way to have a change on a given sls file trigger a service restart defined in another sls file?
14:27 ruimarinho would this be the case for the reactor system?
