17:13 wangofett if your other versions are all the same
17:14 racooper I think I may have found a discrepency. on my working systems, PyYAML is 3.10 from Centos 7 base. on this one system, seems a developer did a pip update to PyYAML 3.12 for an as-yet unknown reason.
17:15 racooper I'm not sure how that would cause this particular issue, but to answer your question, the gnupg version is 2.0.22 on all nodes.
17:18 racooper I know I'm running an older version of Salt, but until #29132 gets resolved that's my only option.

21:48 mede hey guys ... is there a way to use salt-api with SALT.WHEEL.KEY to get the keys from the salt-master?
21:50 hemebond mede: https://github.com/saltstack-formulas/ec2-autoscale-reactor

21:53 mede hemebond: not exactly what i need.... but areally nice approach.  I have a py script that is on another server... and i call different states on the salt-master using salt-api.
21:54 mede https://docs.saltstack.com/en/latest/ref/wheel/all/salt.wheel.key.html  seems to accept salt-api calls.... not sure how to call it ...
21:55 hemebond I don't have anything on-hand for calling the wheel runner from salt-api.
21:56 hemebond Does this give you a hint? http://salt.readthedocs.io/projects/salt-api/en/latest/topics/netapis/
21:58 mede hemebond: i am checking that right now - thanks man
21:58 mede i will try it in a sec "_
21:58 mede :)

22:10 mede hemebond: now i am confused :) so salt-api has a /keys module
22:10 hemebond Looks like it.
22:11 mede one sec :) testing :P
22:13 mede from a bash script it works... but from my py script... i get a 500 Internal Server Error</h2>         <p>The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.

22:54 hemebond mede: Did you give your user account permission to access wheel stuff in the cherrypy configuration?
22:54 hemebond wangofett: Have you tried putting the package name in quotes?
22:55 mede hemebond: it works, i was doing a POST instead of a GET
22:55 hemebond Ah
22:55 wangofett hemebond: yeah, unfortunately that didn't work either :-\
22:55 hemebond wangofett: Does it work when run manually?
22:56 wangofett I ended out just using `-pkgs: - this - that - etc`
22:56 wangofett yeah, at least when first run. It's a bit confusing
