02:02 kitsune ok
02:02 kitsune so i got it to work
02:03 kitsune but now have an issue with it. images loaded as layers set to foreground appear below it. also whenever the screen is redrawn, the sprite disappears.
02:07 kitsune is there a way to load the sprite onto one of the z-layers and have it be persistent?

08:00 FROGGS kitsune: there is an SDLx::LayerManager that takes care of layers... though, it can't handle sprits IIRC
08:01 kitsune I found that out. I can get it to spawn images in the layers which works the same way as sprites for my purpose. still having trouble with getting them behind the foreground. and when screen is redrawn they disappear.
08:09 FROGGS kitsune: do you use SDLx::App? I would just register handlers for drawing background, then sprites/objects, then foreground (hud)
08:10 kitsune I'm using SDLx::App. hmm. are there any examples for doing so on a paste bin some where?
08:11 FROGGS http://sdl.perl.org/SDLx-Controller.html#add_show_handler
08:12 FROGGS (since SDLx::App inherits from SDLx::Controller)
08:13 kitsune thanks. I'll have a read through this.

19:17 spiritor Hello
19:19 spiritor *
19:19 spiritor Is anybody here ?
19:21 spiritor Hello
19:26 FROGGS hi spiritor
19:29 spiritor That's the first time i use irc so i'm a bit lost.. But as the last time I tried to use SDL I had a dirty error, I prefer to connect before !
19:30 spiritor names
19:33 spiritor arf... still the same... " Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException' "
19:33 spiritor maybe someone know this issue ?
19:37 spiritor to be more precise on my environement i'm with perl v5.12.4, osx 10.8.4, and SDL 2.540 .
19:43 FROGGS hmmmm
19:43 FROGGS no idea what this might be...
19:44 FROGGS did you tried to run it in a debugger like gdb?
20:13 spiritor honestly, I run it through perl and I don't know how to call it through gdb ...
20:13 FROGGS gdb --args perl ...
20:14 FROGGS and then at the prompt: run
20:14 FROGGS and when it dies: bt full
20:15 spiritor thanks. try it
20:18 spiritor ow.. I not even sur how I can understand the output...
20:19 spiritor but it seems that the issue is arising after the NSWindow _commonAwake call.
20:19 spiritor #10 0x00007fff90af7f49 in -[NSException raise] ()
20:19 spiritor No symbol table info available.
20:19 spiritor #11 0x00007fff8e08d1d0 in -[NSWindow _commonAwake] ()
20:20 FROGGS hmmm
20:20 FROGGS if you don't see symbols it might be an optimized build
20:20 FROGGS but I'm not sure that you can change that easily
20:20 FROGGS what is #1?
20:21 spiritor #0  0x00007fff94d34212 in __pthread_kill ()
20:21 spiritor No symbol table info available.
20:21 FROGGS ahh
20:21 spiritor #1  0x00007fff8fba0b54 in pthread_kill ()
20:21 spiritor No symbol table info available.
20:21 FROGGS okay, that doesnt mean much
20:22 FROGGS can you no-paste it?
20:22 spiritor You prefer I retype the informations ?
20:23 FROGGS I'd like you to copy all the output and paste it to a paste service
20:23 FROGGS like http://nopaste.info/
20:24 spiritor Yes .. Ok i googled it and found... http://nopaste.info/130fb53302.html that's the little code
20:25 FROGGS spiritor: can you paste the gdb output as well?
20:25 spiritor and the gdb output : http://nopaste.info/5b8e260804.html
20:30 FROGGS might be a problem with osx 10.8 :/ http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12641755/sdl-video-init-causes-exception-on-mac-os-x-10-8
20:52 spiritor grrrr... tried to apply some things they said.. but it seems creating a SDL_main sub ro dropping the SDLx wrapper is not the solution... And I dont know how to init cocoa first to my sdl init in perl ... snif . I'll retry later
20:55 FROGGS spiritor: these suggestions are for C/C++ code... you can't apply these without rebuilding the SDL module
20:57 spiritor yes ...
20:58 spiritor nevertheless. thank you for your lead. Ill certainly see further when i'll have more time. Thanks again !
20:58 spiritor Have a good night !
20:59 FROGGS gnight
