08:51 Christer hi brawndo, did you get your mirrors fixed? I had the same issue when installing shibboleth on RHEL6 yesterday. i ended up downloading the package manually and installing it.
08:51 brawndo yeah, I cloned the repo, removed empty RPMs, added the missing lib RPMs, created a new repo, and uploaded to an S3 bucket
08:51 Christer altough, might have been 2 different packages. libxesec and one more.
08:51 * brawndo dusts hands
08:52 brawndo kind of weird to see lib rpms just sort of dissappear from the repos like that.
08:52 brawndo so I will be rolling my own
08:54 Christer yeah, i read a message on the mailing list from someone that had the same issue - the basic reply was - "we have no control over mirrors" if i remember correctly. hazzle to workaround everything.

11:41 pdurbin Christer: some interesting comments on the list
11:41 pdurbin "Theoretically all of the repos have the same resulting SRPM, but I wouldn't swear to that I guess, so I just point to the root where all of them are." SP SRPM's - http://shibboleth.net/pipermail/users/2016-November/032654.html
11:42 pdurbin "If you want support, use CentOS or SUSE. If you want to use Shibboleth on a Debian OS, use Debian, not Ubuntu.I don't believe anybody should be using Ubuntu with it based on the lack of diligence with packages there, but if you insist on it, use the packages available for it or build from source." http://shibboleth.net/pipermail/users/2016-November/032658.html
11:42 pdurbin I think we've had some users get Shibboleth working on Ubuntu.
11:56 Christer i got it working on ubuntu without any hazzle. (sudo apt-get shibboleth)
11:58 Christer my issues existed on RHEL6 (Red Hat Enterprise 6.8)
11:59 Christer (For some reason my test server and production server is running on different OSes)

19:06 brawndo Yeah, my issue came with using the RHEL_6 repo and Amazon linux.
19:06 brawndo so I have no clue if the ubuntu/deb repos had any issues
19:07 brawndo I had to create a custom RPM for amzn linux due to the way the amzn repos were trying to resolve dependencies.  That was easy enough to work around.
