00:51 pdurbin dmtd: a bit
01:04 dmtd pdurbin: Great! I'm still learning...but here goes: so there is a user, john smith. John Smith's email is john.smith@domain.com and their local directory login is jsmith. How can I ensure that if a user logs into an SSO enabled app, that whether they login with jsmith@domain.com or john.smith@domain.com, that they don't have duplicate accounts? I assume that
01:04 dmtd in
01:04 dmtd Shibboleth you would need to configure this? I can't figure out if that would be in the IDP metadata on the app side, or IDP server side.
01:06 pdurbin dmtd: An SSO-enabled app such as Dataverse (which I work on) expects some sort of indentifier unique to the user such as "eppn": http://guides.dataverse.org/en/4.5.1/installation/shibboleth.html#shibboleth-attributes
01:14 dmtd pdurbin: correct. the app does require an email and unique identifier
01:18 pdurbin That was easy.
