16:45 aubreyja the link is in the channel description.
16:49 aubreyja also, I should post an announcement about the code review - github and npl? Or, we could talk about web services
17:02 mgage I'm still not sure about github -- what I'd like to be able to do is to show how to take do a review of someone elses code.  but I'm not 100% sure how to think about that -- for mecurial it was kind of like you applied a patch and then unapplied.  here I think it might be that you branch off some current code, apply the patch to the branch and then when you are done kill the branch.
17:02 mgage If you get a chance you might try doing that experiment with the code changes I made in PGalias.  In any case I'd like to be more comfortable with that before presenting. consulting with J. Grout might help
17:03 mgage I could talk about webservice -- I've reviewed it now and that might be a good topic.  ---- what were we going to say about the npl ? did we need github for that?
17:04 aubreyja I think that's right, about branches with git.  I've got to finish up an exam, but I do want to experiment with your patches this afternoon
17:04 mgage I could also talk about the PGalias -- it's not done yet of course but I can show what I'm doing.
17:04 aubreyja I don't know what we were going to say about the npl :) but last time we mentioned this as a possible next topic.
17:05 aubreyja yeah, either one would be great I think - which do you prefer?
17:05 aubreyja we could probably get John to come if we talk about webservices
17:05 aubreyja but we can also do that next time
17:07 mgage let's do webservices
17:07 aubreyja ok, sounds good - well, should we see if David can come?
17:08 aubreyja and, 3pm EST?
17:12 mgage yes I'll see if he can come.  I can do 3pm EST (that's a bit earlier than before-- but that might be good)
17:13 aubreyja Well, Danny and Rajiv requested an earlier time (we did 4pm EST right?)
17:20 mgage that's what we did before. 3pm EST is good

20:31 aubreyja wow, msu has some great documentation on how to pay for webwork. :)
20:31 aubreyja http://www.math.msu.edu/webwork/payment_guide.pdf
20:32 aubreyja I wonder if they are doing any custom development...
20:56 mgage__ they were interested in connecting with moodle.  -- I believe that Indiana charges like this too and has for many years.
20:56 mgage__ a bit jealous about the money I suppose, but on the other hand kids are paying enough for college
21:04 aubreyja yeah, I like the free aspect personally
21:05 aubreyja but, at least the money is going back to the school/department/(maybe students) - that's better than it going back to <insert publisher here> I guess
21:06 mgage__ yep
