14:46 aubreyja Hi - we on for a call today?
14:46 mgage think so -- need to discuss invite list for code camp 1 if nothing else
14:47 mgage just looking at my notes: https://workflowy.com/shared/4e4b32fa-b5f0-b38b-94b2-ff408dc2c370/
14:50 JohnTravis also need to discuss invite list for winona
14:50 mgage yes
14:51 mgage I had some preliminary notes for that also https://workflowy.com/shared/0dfb0b05-a5a7-8cae-0896-617634954ef9/
14:51 JohnTravis Yes.  I have that link on my desktop and also copied a lot into a google doc...so I can keep my stuff all in one place!
14:52 aubreyja Should we see if Gavin can come to CC1 since he probably can't come to CC2?
14:52 JohnTravis Interesting how workflowy let's you expand/contract stuff
14:53 mgage -- yes -- I like outlines --
14:53 JohnTravis Sure on Gavin.  But what does he do "best"?
14:53 mgage I think that's a good idea -- I'm trying to figure out whether we have critical mass or not
14:54 aubreyja he's pretty talented - I think he'l have a lot to contribute at either
14:54 mgage Gavin is pretty knowledgable about the guts of webwork since he designed the gateway quiz. he's also thinking about wangberg's additions and database stuff
14:54 JohnTravis Well if you really need someone to come and cook a lot of bacon and fried chicken I might be able to get away.
14:54 JohnTravis :)
14:55 mgage he might know a fair amount of javascript at this point as well
14:55 aubreyja I do like fried chicken, but I tend to regret it after
14:55 JohnTravis carpe diem
14:56 mgage it's somewhat up to you two but since the two of you are lead planners on code camp 2 would it be a good idea for both of you to be at code camp 1 (to learn from my mistakes there. :-) )
14:57 aubreyja Capere cor
14:57 JohnTravis You never make mistakes.  I am always in awe.  (Actually this is closer to true than you might expect.)
14:58 mgage also -- William Stein had a pretty good method of adding a small amount of coherence to the camps by having a reporting session each day which he video taped and posted to youtube.
14:58 mgage we could use a video taper
14:58 aubreyja I like the idea of doing that
14:59 mgage I do too, but we need a camera and someone willing to tape and post (as best I can recall there was minimum editing)
15:00 mgage any thoughts on inviting hsu? any word from djun?
15:00 aubreyja I'm sure we can find a camera - I have an older one we can use if necessary, and I now have a 64GB iPad :)
15:01 JohnTravis I tried to video using ipad (only the lowly 16GB one) and an hour video was over 8GB.  Not so good for storing and streaming
15:01 aubreyja Not a word, I'm think I'm in favor of inviting hsu
15:01 JohnTravis The front camera is too poor.
15:02 mgage also just clumsy  -- a camera with a tripod is what we need -- we want this convenient and painless so that it actually gets done (and done quickly)
15:03 JohnTravis carpe cor
15:03 JohnTravis Side note.  The LED projector is to arrive via UPS today.
15:12 aubreyja Mike - are you able to ssh to courses? I'm on the vpn, but it's timing out when I ssh
15:15 aubreyja ah, never mind - I forgot that we have to use the ip addresses now...
15:16 mgage my login credentials don't seem to work anymore -- I haven't logged in for awhile
15:17 aubreyja for the vpn or the server?
15:17 mgage the vpn
15:18 mgage I don't think you could change the password on that could you?  I have the original note rajiv sent me
15:19 aubreyja_ no, the password he sent me still works - my guess it was the same for all of us...
15:23 mgage nope -- just doesn't work for me --weird
15:23 mgage it used to work
15:23 aubreyja hmm, are you using the cisco client or the built in mac vpn?
15:24 mgage builtin macvpn
15:24 aubreyja me too
15:25 mgage joined #webwork
15:28 mgage now I'm getting a configuration error (I just reentered the secrete word) hmmmm
15:29 aubreyja I had the get the group name and shared secret  from the screenshot in Rajiv's email
15:29 mgage yep -- looking at that now
15:30 JohnTravis no one is on the conference call yet.  I can buzz you here when someone else shows up
15:31 mgage I'll get on -- just a sec
