14:37 JohnTravis aubreyja:
14:37 JohnTravis you home?
14:37 mgage hi
14:37 aubreyja hi
14:37 JohnTravis Hey mike.
14:38 JohnTravis Checking to see if either of you want to enjoy the hot Mississippi summer June 20-22
14:38 JohnTravis ;)
14:38 aubreyja I'd come, but I'll be in Colorado that week
14:39 mgage I can be available via skype/email/IRC etc. I think but probably won't be able to make it out in person.
14:39 JohnTravis I have four now (Mei Chen, Ravinder Kumar, Raghu Gompa)
14:39 JohnTravis me
14:40 JohnTravis Mike..I had thought about having you do a presentation via skype regarding setting up a server
14:40 mgage I think what you are doing is a good precedent and we should broadcast it encourage others to organize get togethers like this.
14:40 mgage I can do that -- or perhaps Arnie might be available -- he'd do a good job of that.
14:40 JohnTravis Honestly I was trying to avoid having a three-day meeting with one person
14:40 JohnTravis Good idea.
14:40 aubreyja Yes, and we should advertise them and maybe even give them a "brand name" like sage days but different....
14:41 mgage the best I've got so far is   wwcodecamp or WWcodecamp
14:41 JohnTravis Yep.  To keep myself straight I have been using WebWork-Clinton, etc.
14:41 aubreyja Actually, I'll either be gone June 21-27 or June 24-30.  If we go June 24-30, then I can also participate remotely
14:41 aubreyja or WeBWorK::Clinton
14:41 JohnTravis LOL.  ::
14:42 aubreyja then there's WeBWorK::Rochester, and WeBWorK::Winona...
14:42 JohnTravis I'll change the name of my google docs in a second.
14:43 JohnTravis You know, if we could record the presentation then I could fix it into a nice video for the wiki
14:43 aubreyja yes! and populate our youtube channel
14:44 JohnTravis Ravinder also wants to bring one of his IT people if we talk about installation issues.
14:45 JohnTravis You know it would be far less expensive to fly one of the leadership team to remote sites to "direct" small meetings such as this and then have others participate via skype, etc.  A number of local people could manage rooms and snack.
14:47 mgage for instruction that's true.  for collaborative development of some feature it's helpful to have people together on site -- at least initially.  Keeps the energy high.
14:50 JohnTravis mgage:  yep.  We'll see how this one goes and adjust as needed.  If folks bring projects, that will really help.
14:50 JohnTravis Just noticed that Vijaya Gompa is also planning to attend.
14:51 mgage sounds good.  I'll be away from the keyboard for awhile.  final push to get all the topology finals graded.  :-)

19:12 JohnTravis aubreyja:  Did you get a chance to look at the WebWork::Winona draft invitation on Google Docs?
19:16 aubreyja hi back - I'll have a look
19:22 JohnTravis Back from phone call.  We need to start asking folks pretty soon.
19:23 aubreyja Yep, sounds good to me.  How about we send them out tomorrow morning?
19:24 aubreyja Also - progress on adaptive homework (ala Gavin and Aaron)
19:24 aubreyja Database redesign...
19:27 JohnTravis Sounds good on all counts.  Go ahead and stick these in where you deem best.
19:28 JohnTravis Arnie's idea of sending out individual emails is a good one.  Do you want to be the main contact or do you want me to do it?
19:29 aubreyja Either way - or we can divide it up, are you done for the semester?
19:42 JohnTravis We graduated last weekend.  I've been working on javascript, these conferences, some WW, MAA video and listening to Pandora and watching Netflix...all in the campus coffeeshop...this week.
19:55 JohnTravis a few updates to the invitation.
20:19 JohnTravis Why don't you do all the inviting so that all of that goes through one person.  I'll settle for keeping up with the WebWork::Clinton invitees.
20:31 JohnTravis going home for the day.  :)  ttfn
