13:39 aubreyja Hi

14:18 mgage aubreyja_: hi  -- I'm at school now
14:19 mgage aubreyja: hi
14:20 aubreyja Hi - just a sec - phone call
14:31 aubreyja Hi - back - can I show you the weird behavior I was referring to yesterday in IRC?
14:32 mgage sure. -- haven't looked at it yet.  what's the best method to talk?
14:33 aubreyja Google hangout? I'll try to set one up - have a look at "Equations_Absolute_Value"
14:33 aubreyja in
14:33 aubreyja https://webwork.math.missouri.edu/webwork2/College_Algebra_Test
14:33 aubreyja gage/gage
14:34 mgage ok -- just a sec
14:34 aubreyja Problem 7 is where I'm printing the environment variables
14:35 aubreyja When you first access it, $numOfAttempts in the problem will match numOfAttempts in the summary below the buttons
14:36 aubreyja but after you submit answers, the in problem numOfAttempts gets one behind
14:37 mgage yeah -- I think that was done on purpose -- but I don't remember exactly why
14:38 aubreyja Do you know where in the code this is happening? Maybe there's some hint?
14:39 aubreyja Our problem with it is that it messes up PeriodicRerandomization.  So, if you watch the attempts_modp and the attmpts_modp_remaining, they start behaving strangely
14:39 mgage right -- let me get logged in to google on my ipad -- it's having some trouble for some reason
14:41 aubreyja Also, I think I found a way to allow people to upload videos to our youtube channel - I'll try to set it up today (YouTube Direct)
14:42 mgage ok I'm in google+ now -- you have post about the video
14:43 aubreyja yep, I think it's the neatest thing since sliced bread :)
14:44 mgage can you start the google hangout -- I'm not seeing a link for it in my ipad version -- seems like it needed to be hosted by a desktop
14:44 mgage I'm michaelegage
14:44 aubreyja yep, just having to install the voice plugin since I switched to chrome
14:45 aubreyja I didn't realize they had an iPad version - I'll have to get it
14:45 mgage they have an iphone version -- I'm just using safari for the ipad at the moment -- although the iphone version works on ipad as well

17:44 JohnTravis aubreyja:  I'm listening.
17:44 JohnTravis ...while watching old episodes of Cheers on Netflix.
17:48 aubreyja Howdy - so, yeah, I have approval to go to Sage days….what is the funding situation again?
17:52 JohnTravis Looks like they will pay for "reasonable" airfare and hotel.
17:52 aubreyja Ok, well we'll split the hotel so that's reasonable.  Last year they put us up in some specific hotels…same or do we have to do that?
17:53 aubreyja Also, what about Malcolm - in one sense I'd rather see a newish person go for webwork
17:53 JohnTravis Rob said that things were pretty tight and that they would not let them reserve a block of rooms.
17:53 JohnTravis There are suggestions on the wiki
17:54 aubreyja ah…I'll see if I can get some recommendations too.  We are good friends with some people whose family is from Seattle. Maybe we can weasel our way into free digs….:)
17:54 JohnTravis I am pretty sure we can get WW to pick up whatever Sage can't.  If Malcolm comes, we can just split two rooms three ways
17:54 aubreyja sure
17:54 JohnTravis Sounds fine.  The only constraint is ease of access to the University.
17:55 aubreyja So, when were you thinking of traveling to/from Seattle?
17:55 JohnTravis When do you plan on leaving?  Friday late or Saturday?  I want to grab a flight asap so that I can leave here late enough to teach at 8-10am
17:56 aubreyja What do you prefer?
17:56 JohnTravis Leaving Clinton sometime after 11:30am on Tuesday...Seems like an arrival near 10pm.
17:57 JohnTravis I'd probably rather take the Saturday evening redeye just so I don't have to rush out of the meeting.  Maybe take Saturday to look around Seattle as well.
17:57 JohnTravis Does it matter to you?
17:57 aubreyja That would be fun - I have a friend who works at MS - they could take us around!
17:58 aubreyja No, it doesn't matter to me - the meeting is Wed - Sat?
17:58 JohnTravis Cool.  I arrived a day early last time and took a van tour of Ranier.  That was nice but a bit expensive and it took all day.
17:59 JohnTravis Wed - Friday.  I had thought it would also be Saturday but that's not on the schedule.
17:59 JohnTravis It was last year for Notebook Days.
18:00 JohnTravis check email.
18:16 JohnTravis Email to Rob sent.
18:31 JohnTravis Flight info to your email.
18:40 aubreyja_ thx - I'll get mine this afternoon
18:40 aubreyja_ you're fast!
18:45 JohnTravis JAN is a small airport.  Prices can jump fast once a few more seats go.  Since I have the teaching constraint, I have to be quick on the draw.
