00:14 mgage_ whytheplatypus:  the permissions issue is a case of not reading the instructions -- finally did out of desperation :-)
00:14 mgage_ http://users.wpi.edu/~bfarr/WWFlash/preparing.html
00:14 whytheplatypus cool!
00:15 whytheplatypus ok i'll drop that html in with the read me at some point
00:15 mgage_ seems to work now -- once I put my server into staff
00:15 mgage_ yeah -- need to try it again from scratch to make sure I didn't do something random that afected the outcome
00:52 djun hi all
00:52 djun back in Vancouver
00:52 mgage_ hi djun.  hope the trip was easy
00:52 whytheplatypus hey, glad u made it back
00:53 djun thanks again for the great codecamp and also the tour of attractions, really enjoyed that
00:54 mgage_ great -- and we really enjoyed having you at the code camp.  I think we got a lot done and the summer is just starting :-)
00:54 djun the trip was great - no hitches at all until we got to vancouver and the jetway got stuck. Had to wait 15 min to taxi to another gate
00:54 djun I'm pumped :)
00:56 djun had some questions about committing  - I've re-done (with a slightly expanded script) the fixups for metadata in the OPL
00:56 mgage_ ok
00:56 djun Shall I commit back to SVN, then to git via git-svn?
00:57 djun Also, should I do a bunch of smaller commits (one per directory in OPL) or one large commit?
00:58 mgage_ it will probably be a bit fussy either way.  the git-svn does  a pretty good job (and Ithink it is getting better).  There are a couple of notes in the instructions that help preserve history -- the github instructions are pretty good.
00:59 mgage_ I guess I'd practice with one of the small directories, make sure it went reasonably well -- blow that away and then commit the whole thing sometime when I was busy doing something else.
00:59 mgage_ jason did the actuall transfer from svn to git for webwork2 -- I read the directions and heard about it afterwards. but I didn't actually watch the process.
01:00 djun I've been tracking things using git-svn and it seems pretty good :)
01:00 mgage_ yes -- certainly the result was good for webwork2
01:01 djun Not sure if I'm caught up with reading yet - has there been email to the list about making svn read-only?
01:02 mgage_ not yet -- I'm planning to do it, but Jason and I are both on trips until Friday -- there are not many committers for the svn trunk branches so I think we can get by waiting until then
01:03 djun OK, let me commit the NPL from svn (say at r2999) to github; I'll then commit my changes to git
01:03 mgage_ sounds good -- ty
01:03 djun We can deal with the few commits to SVN after r2999 individually
01:03 mgage_ yes
01:05 djun OK, I'll get started on that.  Thanks again, talk soon

15:56 djun github is giving me grief
15:57 djun I've set up a repo on openwebwork/webwork-open-problem-library, and forked to djun-kim/webwork-open-problem-library
15:57 djun I get a server error 500 when I try to set up a pull request from my fork :(
15:57 djun I've contacted support but no answer yet
15:59 aubreyja Hi djun
16:00 djun Hi Jason
16:00 djun how's seattle?
16:00 aubreyja Not there yet, leaving in about an hour
16:00 aubreyja (Still in MO)
16:00 djun ah. Happy travels :)
16:00 aubreyja I sent you an email a few minutes ago with details in case you want to come down
16:01 djun oh, thanks!
16:01 djun i'd love to if I can swing it
16:01 aubreyja we're flexible, so just call or shoot me an email if you can make it
16:02 aubreyja The location on the UW campus seems to be in flux due to construction near the original building, but hopefully they'll have that worked out by tomorrow
16:03 aubreyja we can probably delete the CVSROOT from the new library :)
16:04 djun Thanks for the offer of putting me up for a night or two
16:04 djun I deleted CVSROOT from my fork, but haven't been able to pull back :)
16:04 aubreyja no problem
16:04 aubreyja ah
