19:41 djun Is there a good explanation somewhere of using LaTeX displayed equations in PG?
20:12 Paul_Pearson Not that I'm aware of.  But, once you're in TeX mode via \[ \] or \( \) or \( \displaystyle \), you should have access to everything that comes standard with pdfLaTeX (so dvipng and images mode should work completely, whereas jsMath and MathJax might have fewer things that come standard).
20:12 Paul_Pearson Were you concerned with formatting or available features?
20:17 djun Hi Paul
20:18 djun Ran into an issue - trying to type "{" as a delimiter, but I guess PG uses this to start evaluating perl.  In the end I typed \{ "\{" \} which is pretty bizarre :)
20:18 djun but does work
20:18 Paul_Pearson I'm not sure which mode you're in.
20:18 Paul_Pearson Did you try ~~{
20:19 djun Might be a good page for the wiki wish list.
20:19 Paul_Pearson ~~ gets mapped to the escape character \
20:19 djun that gave me a literal \{ rather than the delimiter I wanted
20:19 Paul_Pearson Are you trying to get a brace inside math mode?
20:20 Paul_Pearson Try: here is my set \( \lbrace 1,2,3 \rbrace \)
20:20 djun exactly
20:20 djun ah, nice.  I always forget about lbrace and rbrace
20:20 Paul_Pearson Also, if you want square brackets in math mode, use \lbrack and \rbrack (just to be on the safe side).
20:21 djun You're a font of TeX knowledge ;)
20:21 djun Thanks!
20:22 Paul_Pearson No problem.  I've jumped that hurdle a few times myself :)
