17:29 aubreyja Hi mgage - around?
17:41 mgage hi -- yep I'm back
17:42 mgage aubreyja: hi
17:49 mgage aubreyja: did you get a note from shivram?
17:57 aubreyja Hi gage - I'm going to chat with him on the phone later. Note about JMM?
17:58 mgage yes -- to set up a time to meet?  Should we meet him together?
17:59 mgage I haven't figured out my schedule for JMM yet so I also haven't replied quite yet.
17:59 aubreyja Sure - I think we agreed to meet 1/9 at 1pm. If you can make that time that would make sense
18:01 mgage he'd suggested If your schedule would permit it I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you over coffee either (after 6 pm) on Wednesday OR between (8 am - 930 am) on Thursday OR (12 noon to 5 pm) on Thursday.  I do look forward to catching up with you.
18:02 mgage I'll check my schedule and suggest that I come to the meeting time you scheduled if I can.  -- I don't see any particular reason to meet separately and it would probably be less confusing if we were all in one meeting.
18:02 aubreyja We could figure out a time that works for both of us. (I haven't really nailed down my schedule yet except for the paper session and the mini course)
18:02 aubreyja same here
18:03 mgage I'll try to get my schedule set today or this evening.
18:03 aubreyja btw, did you see my note about the missing template files? Am I missing something there?
18:04 mgage I think so -- I'm just checking -- the templates are now stored in htdocs/templates not in conf/templates.  -- I'm double checking which version this starts with
18:04 aubreyja right, I saw that, but htdocs/templates/ subdirectories seem to be missing files
18:05 mgage sorry they are stored in htdocs/themes  not htdocs/templates
18:06 mgage I cut the themes down to math2, math3, and ubc
18:06 aubreyja oh, ok. I was looking in htdocs/templates
18:07 aubreyja oh, webwork2/templates
18:07 mgage As ones where the CSS was up to date.  The union css files weren't up to date so I just left them out, but they should really be worked on and added back in.
18:07 aubreyja so htdocs/themes seem ok
18:07 mgage I think that file is actually an error -- I had it there to make sure nothing got erased and it was accidentally committed.
18:08 aubreyja ok, but should there be a htdocs/themes/moodle?  The old one seemed to use moodle specific id's to some extent
18:10 mgage I took out the templates file in my version of ww2.5.2 https://github.com/mgage/webwork2-dev/commits/ww2.5.2
18:11 aubreyja which commit?
18:11 mgage The moodle theme file really hadn't proved very useful and I'd stopped using it, even when I used moodle.  Originally it gave a slightly bigger window when WW was displaying inside a moodle frame.  The versions you find will be pretty out of date
18:11 mgage 993b6e...   (remove unused template directory)
18:12 aubreyja ah, ok, that's just not in openwebwork yet
18:13 mgage no -- not yet.  and it's in ww2.5.2  -- I've been accumulating updates from Peter and it hasn't been quite stable enough to put in openwebwork.
18:14 mgage We could backport that commit to ww2.5.1.1 but that's pretty far down my stack right at the moment.
18:16 aubreyja actually, I see he replied and he's actually on 2.5.0 which has the moodle theme - it's just not doing as much as he expected
18:17 mgage let me look again at what he was expecting -- I don't think it ever did much and it wasn't being maintained.
18:18 mgage I think it was pretty much identical to math2 as he said.  math3 has changes that help accessibility, using sans-serif fonts, etc. etc.
18:19 mgage the type looks blockier and not as delicate, but it is supposed to be easier to read.
18:19 aubreyja did you get an email from me on webwork-devel?  The admin interface seems to be broken at the moment and I'm wondering if the mailing list is too
18:19 mgage no I didn't
18:19 aubreyja grr
18:20 mgage I'm also getting some interesting phenomena in viewing some of the "embedded examples" that refer to items in google docs/drive.  I suspect it's permissions -- those items were set up to only be available to people with accounts on google perhaps?   Here is the url to see what I mean -- what you see:
18:21 mgage https://test.webwork.maa.org/webwork2/gage_demo/Embedding_Examples/
18:22 mgage and https://hosted2.webwork.rochester.edu/webwork2/gage_demo/Embedding_Examples
18:22 mgage what's weird is that example2 (google gadgets with pedagogical value was working yesterday but not today)
18:22 aubreyja I don't seem to have a login in that course, but when I view them as guest the work for me
18:23 mgage both examples and also the inset in the info page?
18:23 mgage try logging out of google and see if you can still see them
18:24 mgage for me example 1 works but example 2 doesn't, nor does the set info page
18:27 mgage I am getting webwork2-dev reports from Peter Staab
18:27 aubreyja from today?
18:27 mgage from a few minutes ago -- but they are from github -- not the mailing list
18:29 aubreyja I'll have to track this down - haven't touched them since the last fix, but clearly there's some new permission issue

18:59 aubreyja Mike - try the roster management embedding problem (#1)
19:00 mgage ok -- that works, but it worked before as well  https://test.webwork.maa.org/webwork2/gage_demo/Embedding_Examples/1/ (or at least it worked this morning -- you sent me some kind of message when you enabled it for me)  I think it may not have worked yesterday
19:01 mgage however the link the setinfo box doesn't work and gives the error message about requiring access.
19:01 mgage problem two fails silently
19:01 aubreyja the presentation wasn't published on the web - you were probably logged into the google account where you had access to it before.  I think it should work for anyone now
19:03 mgage ok -- how about problem 2?  and was setinfo box linked to the same demo as  problem 1?
19:03 aubreyja 2 still works for me.  But, maybe it's linked to my google account in some way. Do you see any evidence of that in the embedding code?
19:05 mgage <iframe src='http://docs.google.com/EmbedSlideshow?docid=dp7p9h5_889v2frspgb' frameborder='0' width='410' height='342'></iframe>
19:05 mgage does that look familiar :-)
19:05 mgage sorry -- that is setinfo
19:06 mgage packman is :
19:06 mgage <script src="http://www.gmodules.com/ig/ifr?url=http://www.schulz.dk/pacman.xml&amp;amp;up_LANG=en&amp;amp;synd=open&amp;amp;w=320&amp;amp;h=420&amp;amp;title=PacMan+v2.6&amp;amp;lang=all&amp;amp;country=ALL&amp;amp;border=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gmodules.com%2Fig%2Fimages%2F&amp;amp;output=js"></script>
19:07 mgage and that works fine from my command line
19:07 mgage not sure why it doesn't work when embedded
19:07 aubreyja just a sec, phone call
19:12 mgage yes -- the setinfo embedding I can see if I'm logged in to google as michaelegage  but not otherwise -- so that is probably not being displayed publically -- it's the WeBWorK -- online homework for math and science
19:13 mgage power point
19:21 mgage afk
19:36 mgage back
19:41 aubreyja back - ok, right - I've published that one on the web too so it should work now
19:42 aubreyja I don't see anything that is would be specific to me in the google gadget embed code. I was looking for perhaps a developer key or something...
19:43 mgage it might just be that you published the object and then set it's permissions -- for example I think the presentation on the setinfo page is shared with michaelegage but not with the world
19:45 mgage except that now I think that one is shared with the world also since it works for me when I'm logged out of google.
19:45 aubreyja I think I just shared it with the world - does it work now?
19:45 aubreyja ok
19:45 mgage The only one which doesn't work -- is the pac man game
19:45 mgage and every now and then it works too -- not sure why
19:47 aubreyja ha -  i think it's chrome. Firefox is my default and it works for me there, but not on chrome
19:49 mgage yep -- it works in firefox and safari but not chrome -- however it's coming up with "popout and play in a larger window -- didn't it use to just play embedded in the page?
19:50 aubreyja yeah, it plays embedded for me in firefox (lemme check the version)
19:50 aubreyja 17.0.1 (current release)
19:50 mgage I've got firefox 14.0.1
19:51 mgage updated to 17.0.1 and I still get a "popout and play" sign -- possibly some local setting
19:55 mgage what is weird is that on firefox I can't get problem1 and the setinfo embeddings
19:56 mgage safari gets all three although problem two isn't embedded.
