16:37 darwyn Hi Jason
17:27 jpgravel joined #webwork
17:27 jpgravel Hi mgage, are you there?
17:27 mgage_ yes
17:28 jpgravel good, I have a question about the translation system.
17:28 jpgravel we are nearly over with JQuery Mathview integration
17:29 jpgravel And I wodered if we could be of any help expanding the localization system
17:30 mgage_ I would love some help with that.  (I outlined some of the things that need doing here:
17:30 mgage_ http://michaelgage.blogspot.com/2012/07/internationalization-of-webwork-call.html
17:30 mgage_ (I think I scared people off with the title -- )
17:30 aubreyja sorry phone call - just a sec
17:31 jpgravel np
17:31 jpgravel I'll read that blog post
17:32 mgage_ jpgravel: you should also take a look at the more recent posts on the webwork.maa.org/planet site -- we just had a very successful code camp in Raleigh, NC.  Next one is in Vancouver in June.
17:32 mgage_ Think there would be any interest in having a code camp somewhere near Montreal?
17:33 jpgravel I think it could be interesting yes
17:33 mgage_ I'll be in touch :-)
17:33 jpgravel depending on montreal interested developpers, Quebec could be a great choice too
17:33 jpgravel ;)
17:34 mgage_ yep.  I grew up on the St. Lawrence River (Canton, NY) so I like the idea of going "home" for a conference. Actually I'll be headed to Canton for a few days in an hour or so.
17:36 jpgravel i don't know where is canton, is ther eany other city in the vincinity?
17:37 jpgravel ok, got it
17:37 mgage_ due south of Ottawa, Ogdensburg is actually on the river -- near Cornwall also
17:38 jpgravel I just saw it on google map, nice little town indeed
17:38 aubreyja Hi darwyn - around?
17:38 darwyn hi jason
17:39 aubreyja what's up?
17:39 darwyn I am finally ready to post the AU problems I have created to github, but need some direction.
17:40 mgage__ joined #webwork
17:40 aubreyja great ! (and what's AU mean?)
17:40 darwyn I guess what I need to do is first make sure i am running webwork dev?
17:40 darwyn Alfred University, or gold :)
17:41 aubreyja ah, right, got it.  To submit problems you don't need to have any particular version of webwork.
17:41 aubreyja step one is to find the webwork-open-problem-library in github and fork it
17:41 jpgravel ok so mike, I'll put my programmer int localization as soon as he is over with JQuery MathView
17:41 mgage__ John jones added a page to the wiki on this
17:41 aubreyja at the last code camp we finally put the nail in the coffin of the old npl
17:41 darwyn quick question, are these conversations logged?
17:41 aubreyja yes
17:42 aubreyja there eis a link in the channel description, it's
17:42 darwyn John did? I looked but didnt see it
17:42 aubreyja http://goo.gl/jELTn
17:42 jpgravel Just to mention that I fear that our JQuery MathView integration may be a little bit gross and may need some revision to fit your design views
17:42 mgage__ Jpgravel. Great I look forward to that.   Have him contact me since things have evolved a bit since that blog post
17:42 jpgravel ok perfect.
17:43 aubreyja also, your university, isp, the fbi, etc., may keep independent records...
17:44 mgage__ Np -- we're constantly improving things.  I spend a lot of my time convincing people that it is bettEr
17:44 mgage__ Better to have something usable now than something perfect later
17:45 darwyn lol, let me check out John's directions to see if I am missing anything
17:46 jpgravel good, thanks
17:46 jpgravel By the way, Louise is looking for more financing to fund a more advanced question editor for webwork
17:47 jpgravel is there any advancement in that way?
17:47 darwyn found John's directions. Looks simple enough, thanks!
17:49 mgage__ Some.  There was a presentation of a simplified question editor at Raleigh that hasn't made it to the blog posts yet   Djun Kim at UBC has included code mirror.  But that hasn't made it to the general distribution yet.
17:49 darwyn Mike, enjoy Canton! I went to SUNY Potsdam, beautiful country. Hopefully we can get together next week and resume working on integrating PDL graphics into webwork.
17:50 mgage__ Make sure she checks out PGML as a simplified language
17:51 mgage__ Cool  I didn't realize you went to Potsdam.
17:52 darwyn I always tell people I went to visit on the one nice day in the summer and got suckered :) It really is lovely up there.
17:53 jpgravel The JQuery Math-View dows rendering in both TeX and PGML
17:54 jpgravel if it's what you meant...
17:54 mgage__ Great.  I'm eager to look at it.
