16:04 pbelley Hi
16:06 pbelley I'm working on addon module for webwork and I want to know what is the best way to display complex equation with perl module.
16:06 pbelley Anyone here can help me?
16:07 aubreyja Hi - what do you want your add on to do?
16:07 pbelley I have PG code to diffuse in beautifull equation
16:09 pbelley It will be use for student to answer to question's like simplify this equation
16:10 aubreyja ok, and what do you want webwork to do that it doesn't do now?
16:10 pbelley then the answer will be PG code but the add-on will show the equation graphically
16:11 pbelley is the graphical part my problem
16:12 pbelley I want to know wich module can help me to render problem equation into display
16:12 pbelley do you understand what I want to say?
16:13 aubreyja I'm not sure - equation display and graphing things that webwork can do now
16:13 aubreyja for example,
16:14 pbelley sorry I just want to do equation display
16:15 pbelley like abs(a) appear like |a|
16:15 aubreyja if you define a formula  like $f = Compute("x^2 + 5") then you can have the equation displayed to students as an image using mathjax already
16:15 pbelley and will I need to import something
16:16 pbelley in code?
16:16 aubreyja in a pg problem there is a block BEGIN_TEXT…END_TEXT which is what gets displayed to students
16:16 pbelley ok
16:17 aubreyja before that block goes Context()->texStrings and after goes Context()->normalStrings and this tells the parser to get the latex version of any formla (for example) and that latex is then sent to the display mode that is in use
16:17 pbelley ok
16:17 aubreyja yes, functionality in problems is included by adding the appropriate macro file to the loadMacros() call
16:17 pbelley ok
16:18 pbelley thank's for information to edit problem, it will be usefull
16:18 pbelley but I want to render equation into extern displayer
16:18 aubreyja Here is some documentation about various problem authoring techniques: http://webwork.maa.org/wiki/Problem_Techniques
16:19 pbelley but I dont talk about problem authoring
16:19 pbelley I talk about Module authoring
16:19 aubreyja ok, I guess I still don't understand what you are trying to accomplish
16:20 pbelley I trying to create a module to edit equation
16:20 pbelley then you enter PG code into textarea (HTML) and it appear the rendered equation (image display)
16:22 aubreyja ah, ok - just a sec
16:22 pbelley to help user to see what look like the equation
16:22 pbelley thanks
16:24 aubreyja there are some web services that you can use and clients for them here: https://github.com/openwebwork/webwork2/tree/master/clients
16:25 pbelley yes
16:25 pbelley I'll look for that
16:26 pbelley thank's a lot for helping me
16:26 aubreyja and PGProblemEditor2.pm I think is also trying to render pg code to help with problem authoring, but it's not ready for use yet: https://github.com/openwebwork/webwork2/tree/master/lib/WeBWorK/ContentGenerator/Instructor
16:27 pbelley ok
16:27 pbelley I'll look for that too
16:28 pbelley Your help will be usefull for me, thanks a lot
16:28 aubreyja glad to help - you might also ask on our devel list: http://webwork.maa.org/mailman/listinfo
16:29 aubreyja the people working on this stuff are on that list and could provide some more info
16:30 pbelley nice

18:10 rbeezer Graph theory problems in NPL say:
18:10 rbeezer "This problem needs the file Chromatic.pm loaded in global.conf at line 18 of (eval 54047)"
18:10 rbeezer Can I fix this somehow?  Can somebody else fix this easily?
