02:18 hotdogs hello, is there an easy way to replace one course's problem sets with the problems from another?
02:18 hotdogs the user edited a specific course instead of the template :(
02:20 hotdogs well that's not a good sign...

17:34 goehle hey mgage
17:42 mgage hi -- I'm listening to sage lectures -- so my replies be a bit sporadic
17:42 mgage multitasking is harder than it looks

18:01 hotdogs from looking at our "create course from template" code (someone else did the initial webwork setup), I replaced the template course's templates/ dir and _problem/_set tables with the modified course's.  Anything else I would need to copy?

18:23 goehle hi hotdogs
18:23 goehle have you tried exporting the problem sets
18:24 goehle putting the exported sets into an archive using the file managert
18:24 goehle uploading that to the new course
18:24 goehle and then importing?
18:24 goehle its a bit of a process but if you only need to do it once it works well
18:24 goehle hey mgage
18:24 goehle sorry was helping a student
18:24 goehle just wanted to check in and see how things were going
18:26 hotdogs goehle: I'll try that next if the instructor is still unhappy :)
18:27 hotdogs I'm so used to tinkering in the backend, didn't realize that was possible through the file manager
18:27 goehle ah sure
18:27 goehle it should be possible via the backend
18:27 goehle as long as you also copy the relevent msql tables
18:34 goehle http://webwork.maa.org/wiki/MovingHomeworkTutorial#.UcNLJvFQk2o
18:34 goehle if your script doesnt work out for you
18:46 hotdogs hmmm.  if I upload the archive through the file manager
18:46 hotdogs how do I get the problems added to the DB?
18:47 goehle you would use import on the homework sets editor.
18:47 goehle actually I was just testing it out
18:47 goehle and I don't think that copying a course from the web admin transfers over the tables either
18:48 goehle I"m not sure what your script did
18:48 goehle In any case import will let you pull in all of the old homework sets (with their old due dates unfortunately)
18:48 hotdogs no, I restored from a backup
18:48 hotdogs I'm trying your way now :)
