14:18 * goehle pounces
16:25 goehle hey mgage
17:50 mgage goehle  hi
17:50 goehle hi
17:51 goehle So it turns out the weekend of May 23rd is memorial day
17:51 mgage I could do it, but probably not a great weekend  -- is May 30 possible?
17:52 goehle Jason wouldn't be able to come
17:53 goehle but it works for me
17:54 mgage the other possibility is to have it a bit earlier in the week -- in May I suspect people are either out of school or won't be able to come -- something that went from May 20 to 23 might work -- (then go enjoy the weekend in the Great Smokeys).
17:54 mgage A bigger problem could be hotel space in Ashland for that weekend.
17:54 mgage or even the week leading up to it
17:54 goehle right
17:55 goehle its possible to book it
17:55 goehle bexcause we are so early
17:55 goehle but it would be more expensive
17:56 mgage would booking May 20 to 23 be more expensive than booking May 28 to 31?   -- there is a lot of flexibility in those dates by the way.  My guess is that whether it is a weekend or not is much less important in May -- it might even be preferable for some people if we avoided weekends.
17:57 mgage what ever gets set tentatively we should run it by some other eyeballs to make sure it makes sense
17:57 goehle Overall during the week would be cheaper
17:57 goehle because of the way the building works
17:58 goehle we have to hire someone to staff it over teh weekend
17:59 mgage how about sketching out something for May 20 to 23 or May 19 to 22 or something like that --- we'll see what people think and if people prefer we could move it to a week later.
17:59 goehle what do you mean sketch out something?
18:01 mgage See if it's possible at your end (i.e. is it likely the reservations can be made, there are no conflicts with classes) and what it would cost. -- then let's run it by Arnie, Vicki JT and Jason
18:01 goehle ok
18:01 mgage perhaps someone else
18:01 goehle I've already got some things
18:01 goehle but I'll change the dates and see if I can get an estimate
18:02 mgage sounds good -- we should be able to get feedback pretty quickly from our group.  and unless someone sees something we missed we'll probably pick either that week or the next -- likely the costs and conflicts would be about the same either week but that's something to inquire about.
18:03 goehle OK
18:04 goehle so you want costs for the facilities
18:04 goehle and the hotel rooms
18:04 goehle and catering
18:04 goehle anythign else?
18:04 mgage nope -- that is about it -- estimates are fine
18:05 goehle could you take a look at my pull request sometime
18:05 goehle I've got some bugfixes I want to submit
18:05 goehle but I dont wnat to do that until the other things are merged
18:06 mgage ok -- I've been getting a bit behind.  I'm afraid I pulled the askSage corrections a little too quickly -- the test problems I ran didn't cover the askSage facility properly -- some of the problem may be on the sage server end.  I've got to get in touch with Jason Grout
18:06 goehle ok
18:06 goehle fix broken things
18:06 goehle before you introduce new things
18:06 goehle :)
18:07 goehle should I get lunch all 4 days
18:07 goehle or just the middle 2
18:08 goehle also, before we actually reserve the rooms
18:08 goehle we have to have a list of people we are inviting
18:08 goehle the deadline for this is march
18:08 goehle so not super soon
18:08 goehle but well before may
18:08 mgage I've already obtained your fixes and I'm running them on my laptop.  I'll try to do some work to test them specifically soon.
18:08 goehle right
18:09 goehle I have bugfixes on top of those
18:09 goehle https://github.com/goehle/webwork2/tree/bugfixes
18:09 goehle if you want to lay that on top of all the other ones
18:10 mgage I guess the lunch question depends on how expensive the catering is and how easy it is to go out to eat nearby.  Often the first day people are arriving in the afternoon and so maybe lunch isn't necessary that day.
18:10 goehle I'll ask for 2 days
18:10 goehle and then we can increase if its cheap
18:10 mgage kk -- should work fine.
18:11 mgage we should figure out a rough plan of what which projects we'll do and who to invite in the next month and a half.  Of course projects depend a little on who can come.
18:26 goehle yeah.  where will we be at next may
18:26 goehle working on 2.9?
18:26 goehle or 3.0?
18:27 goehle what should I do about peters pull
18:27 goehle its so big
18:30 mgage we might be working on both 2.9 and 3.0    -- you can leave peter's pull for a while longer -- I have pulled a version of it to devel1 -- you can test it there -- do you have a course there?
18:30 mgage you do-
18:31 mgage peter's front end is coming a long.  wish I had more time to play with it
18:32 goehle ok
18:32 goehle I"m trying to get a pull running on my devel machine
18:32 goehle but its not working
18:35 mgage peter told us yesterday that we should pull    github.com/pstaabp/webwork2  develop branch  -- he's keeping that relatively stable
18:36 mgage the other branches can break at any time :-)
18:37 mgage peter just sent out an email -- I think you got it also

18:40 goehle I was trying to pull that as part of its pull request
18:41 goehle I suppose its just my local setup though
