18:35 aubreyja_ Hi pstaab
18:35 pstaab Hey Jason
18:35 pstaab Should we "hangout" or just IRC chat?
18:35 aubreyja_ Hey - yeah, maybe a hangout would be easier - I'll 'call' you
21:16 shdw_work is there a reason why, when you add a new person in the classlist editor, it doesn't give you the option to change their access level in the same screen?
21:17 shdw_work for example, I'm entering some professors right now, and I have to enter their info, then go back and search for them and edit their accounts again to change them to professor level.

22:26 goehle Its to make entry a little easier
22:26 goehle less fields means less tabbing
22:27 goehle also, it helps keep people from changing things by accident
22:27 shdw_work except that all my students get entered by file, and the only manual entries I do are for the instructors :-)
22:27 goehle you can edit many people simultaneously, and if you add the professors before you add the students, it makes things easier to find
22:27 goehle right
22:27 goehle so do the professors first
22:28 shdw_work sure, that works sometimes... but half the time I don't even get the list of instructors until after the students have been put in
22:30 goehle you could always create a file with the professors in it and then import that.  The permission level can be set as part of the import file
